<br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Long Range Planning Committee reported: 1) The Lang
<br />Range Planning Committee of Council and the Landmarks Commission have acheduled
<br />a meeting, open to the public, at Town Hall, on April 14th, at 7:30 P.M. The
<br />intent of the meeting is to gather public input as to the proposed use of Tawn
<br />Hall.
<br />2) Interim Committee met and talked about the lighting for the Council Chamber;
<br />ma.de some suggestions for changes; will be meeting again tomorrow night.
<br />Mr. Woerpel, Chairman Building, Zoning and Developmtnt Committee reported: 1) The
<br />BZD Committee met on Thursday, Februaxy 24th. Building Commissioner Gundy pre-
<br />sented the following requests for action:
<br />a. Dynamic Hair Design, 23790 Lorain Road, request for pro3ecting
<br />sign (canopy sign). Request was approved by ARB on February 16th and bq the Planning
<br />Commission on the 22nd. BZD Canm.ittee, by a two to one vote, Mr. Bierman voting in
<br />the negative, recommends approval of the request. Mr. Woerpel moved Cauncil approve
<br />said sign, second by Mrs. Petrigac. Ro11 call on motion: Affirmative vote:
<br />McKay, Petrigac, Woerpel. Negative vote: Bierman, Logan, Saringer, Wilamosky.
<br />3 Aye - 4 Nay - Motion failed. Dynamic Hair Design projecting sign disapproved.
<br />b. Medical Emergency Doctors' Center, Lorain Road, east of Ponderosa
<br />Steak House, request for ground sign. Request was approved by ARB on the 16th and
<br />by the Planning Commission an the 22nd of February. Cammittee recom?ends approval.
<br />Mr. Woerpel moved Cotmcil approve said sign, second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously
<br />approved.
<br />c. Medieal Emergency Doctors' Center, Lorain Road, proposed
<br />building plans to construct the emergency care facility and medical office building.
<br />Plans, as presented, approved by ARB on the 16th; approved by Planning Commission
<br />on the 22nd, contingent upon the developers receiving Engineering Department
<br />approval for drainage. BZ.D Committee recommends approval as per Planning Commission.
<br />Mr. Woerpel moved Council approve said building plans, second by Mrs. Petrigac,
<br />unanimously approved.
<br />d. Ground Round Restaurant, 24250 Lorain Road, proposal to con-
<br />struct an addition to existing restaurant. Approved by ARB on the 16th and Planning
<br />Commission on the 22nd. Board of Zoning Appeals granted a 25 foot setbaek variance
<br />and special permit on February Znd. B2D recommends approval with the requirement
<br />that post mounted signs be used in the parking area to designate handicapped parking.
<br />Committee further suggests the installation af small "enter" and "exit" signs.
<br />Mr. Woerpel moved Council approve proposed addition with the requirement that post
<br />aounted signs be used to designate handicapped parking, second by Mr. Bierman, unani-
<br />mously approved.
<br />2) Committee discussed a rezoning request from Jamestown Village Apartments on
<br />Columbia Road, north of Brookpark. The rezoning of three parcels from Class C
<br />Residence Single to Residence Multiple was approved by Planning Commission and Council
<br />in 1976, Ordinance No. 76-159, but was rejected by the voters on June 6, 1978.
<br />The Jamestown Village Apartment partners are aware this must go before the voters
<br />again and would like it to be on the June 7, 1983 primary ballot. Planning Commission
<br />approved the request on February 22nd. Since the original ordinance is no }.onger
<br />valid, the partners will be coming before Council again with a new ordinance.
<br />OD 3) Committee discussed a rezoning request from Sparky DiBenedetto ta change the
<br />present Class A Residence, single classification to Retail Business, General, at
<br />the northeast corner of Braokpark Extension and Dover Center Road. The Planning
<br />Commission rejected this request on February 8, 1983. Coaimittee reviewed various
<br />Council and Public Hearing minutes of 1970 and Mr. Woerpel moved Cauncil uphold
<br />the actions of Planning Comnnission, second by Mrs. Petrigac. After furtYter discussion,
<br />realizing such a motion was unnecessary, Mr. Woerpel withdrew his motian.
