Council Minutes of 12/18/84 -4- <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee as well as Streets and Drainage Committee <br />reported: 1) Finance Committee met on December 10th and discussed Ordinance No. <br />84-115, a transfer ordinance; Council has been advised of some minor changes. <br />2) Committee reviewed Ordinance No. 84-116, an appropriation ordinance and has no <br />abjection. <br />3) Also, reviewed Ordinance No. 84-119, 1985 budget, and recommended one change under <br />Fire Department - Uniforms. Amount was changed from $6,000 to $14,275 since the <br />uniform allowance is generally paid the first of the year. <br />Letters and Communications: <br />Clerk of Council reported: 1) Received notice from Ohio Bell Telephone Company <br />advising of rate increases; notice is on file in Clerk's office for inspection. <br />2) City is also advised of an offer from Biskind Development Company to fund a <br />strategic Transportation Planning Study on behalf of North Olmsted, with the Northeast <br />Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency serving as a consultant. President Boehmer has <br />been invited to select two representatives to participate as voting members of a <br />study team, representing major interest in the community, to guide this project. <br />President Boehmer announced that he is naming Mrs. Petrigac and Mrs. Saringer to <br />serve as voting members on the above mentioned study team. Both Councilwomen re- <br />ported they would be happy to serve. <br />Audience participation: <br />Mrs. Gemma Szabo, Bradley Road, reported that debris from an accident at Barton and <br />Lorain Roads caused a flat tire on the family automobile; heard other people had <br />flat tires also. Would like such debris cleaned up more quickly to avoid this <br />problem in the future. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Ordinance No. 84-109 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance amending the Traffic Control Map and File of the City of North Olmsted <br />to establish no stopping or parking zones on the fire hydrant sides of Hampton Drive, <br />Devon Drive, Berkshire Drive, Tudor Drive, Alden Drive, Douglas Drive, Evergreen <br />Drive and Willet Drive. Mrs. Petrigac moved for adoption, second by Mr. O'Grady, <br />unanimously approved. .Ordinance No. $4-109 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 84-111 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance amending the Traffic Control Map and File of the City of North Olmsted <br />to establish no stopping or parking zones on the fire hydrant side of ~~Iestview Drive, <br />from Lorain Road south to Linda Drive. Z4rs. Petrigac moved for adoption, second by <br />Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 84-111 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 84-112 introduced by PZr. Wilamosky was given its third reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for new <br />tires and tubes for use by the City, and authorizing the Mayor to contract for same, <br />and declaring an emergency. Mr. ?+lilamosky moved for adoption, second by Mr. Tallon, <br />unanimously approved. Resolution No. 84-112 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 84-57 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the City to "pick-up" employee contributions to the Ohio <br />Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as amended. <br />Ordinance No. 84-113 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance reducing the current and future salaries of employees of the City contribu- <br />ting to the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) by an amount equal to the <br />employee's contribution to PERS and further directing the Finance Director to pay the <br />reduced proceeds into the Public Employees' Retirement Fund, and declaring an emer- <br />gency, as amended. <br />i <br />
