.e <br />Council Minutes of '/17/84 <br />-4- <br />Letters and Communications: <br />Clerk of Council announced receipt of over twenty letters from the residents of <br />Porter Road asking that the speed limit on North Porter Road be reduced to 25 miles <br />per hour. <br />Audience participation: <br />Mr. Lee Kloss, 27951 Sanders Lane; Mr. Thomas Ntyroniak, 6493 Charles Road, Plumbers' <br />Local 55; Mr. Ed Shingary, Business Representative of Local 38 - electrical workers; <br />Mr. Dunham, Business Agent of Plumbers' Local 55; Mr. Jim Mason, Pipefitters' Local <br />120; Mr. Paul Grayshaw, 28545 Magnolia Drive, Member International Brotherhood of <br />Electrical Workers; Mr. Dan Danley, 6529 Nancy Drive, Local No. 1108, Mr. Frank <br />Kessler, District Counsel Business Agent for the Carpenters' Union, acted as spokesmen <br />for the many union tradesmen present and expressed the anger and disappointment they <br />felt because of the awarding of the Treatment Plant contract to a non-union company - <br />Cedar Bay. <br />Mrs. Pat Bahas, North Olmsted resident and former Vice Chairman of the Charter Re- <br />view Commission recommended Council adopt Ordinance No. 84-64, a proposed charter <br />amendment recommended by the Charter Review Commission. <br />Mrs. Sokol, 4909 Porter Road, thanked ,Council for continuing its investigation of <br />the traffic conditions on Porter Road; asked if local people could do the traffic <br />survey. Mrs. Sokol was told that a certified survey is required by ODOT before the <br />City of North Olmsted can proceed with legislation to reduce the speed. Mrs. Sokol <br />was also advised to call the Building Department with respect to permits required <br />for erecting a fence on her property. <br />Mrs. Gemma Szabo, Bradley Road, advised Council that the pew seating for the audience <br />is very uncomfortable; can anything be done about it. President Boehmer said that <br />he doubted if anything could be done. <br />LEGISLATION• <br />Ordinance No. 84-52 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its third reading. An ordin- <br />ance adopting a new Section 525.021 of the Codified Ordinances entitled "Misidentifi- <br />cation" of Chapter 525 entitled "Law Enforcement and Public Office". Mr. O'Grady <br />moved for adoption, second by Mr. T,lilamosky, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. <br />84-52 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 84-54 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance amending the Traffic Control Map and File of the City of North Olmsted to <br />establish no stopping or parking zones on both sides of Christman Drive between <br />Sutton Drive and the I-480 right-of-way. Mr. Wilamosky moved for adoption, second <br />by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 84-54 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 84-53 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its second reading. An ordin- <br />ance amending the Traffic Control Map and File of the City of North Olmsted to pro- <br />vide for traffic control at the intersection of Hickory Lane and Old Shore Drive by <br />the placement of one (1) stop sign on the southeast corner of Hickory Lane where the <br />same intersects with Old Shore Drive, as amended. <br />Ordinance No. 84-56 introduced by Mrs. Saringer was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance establishing the method by which fees for the use of the facilities of the <br />Recreation Department are to be fixed, and repealing Ordinance No. 82-95, and de- <br />claring an emergency. <br />,, <br />
