Council Minutes of 4/17/84 <br />- 3- <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislative Committee <br />reported: 1) Although not in attendance at the April 10th Recreation Commission <br />Meeting, will briefly discuss the following: Spring brochure will be available <br />April 20th and will be mailed to residents the week of April 23rd. This year's <br />brochure will contain a mail-in registration .form to be used for softball, Pony <br />Tail, T-ball and playground programs. A few important events coming up are the <br />community picnic on May 27th from 1 to 5 at the Recreation Complex; the June 23rd <br />community bike hike; the June 27th Junior Olympic Track Meet; May 4th, 5th and 6th <br />Ice Blossom Show - A Salute To Hollywood. The outdoor pool will open on May 27th <br />with early bird discounts now available for summer pool passes. Ice rink will be <br />closed April 30th through May 6th. Registration for spring ice skating was <br />opened on Saturday, April 14th. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairman Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee reported: <br />1) Moved Council have no objection to the transfer of a D2, D2X, D3, D3A, D3X and <br />D6 liquor permit from Chi Chi's Incorporated, 26410 Great Northern Plaza, to <br />Chi Chi's of Ohio Incorporated, dba Chi Chi's, 26410 Great Northern Plaza, second <br />by Mr. Bierman, unanimously approved. <br />At this point, Councilman Wilamosky took his seat at the Council table, the time <br />being 8:30 P.M. <br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee as well as <br />Transportation Committee reported: 1) With respect to the old stone house on Porter <br />Road, the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Flagner, met with a contractor at the house on <br />Sunday. They looked over blue prints, talked about adding a garage, and assured <br />Mrs. Petrigac that they would go to the Building Department and begin processing the <br />plans. Since then, Building Commissioner Gundy has advised that they were in and <br />he has examined the plans. Since the plans appear to he in order, Mr. Gundy will <br />have them ready for the BZD Committee's review next Thursday. <br />Mr. Tallon, Chairman Building, Zoning and Development Committee reported: 1) The <br />Board of Zoning Appeals met on April 4th and granted a special permit to add to <br />non-conforming building (front set back) on the Jerry Slabaugh property at 25559 <br />Lorain Road. Council has thirty days to accept or reject this special permit. <br />After discussion of the Slabaugh property, President Boehmer scheduled a Special <br />Council Meeting for Monday, April 23rd, at 7 P.M., at which time Mr. Tallon will <br />present the plans and Council will consider further. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee as well as Streets and Drainage Committee <br />reported: 1) Streets and Drainage Committee met on April 9th; discussed Ordinance <br />No. 84-31 which provides for changing the street name "Reed Road" to "Kenny Lane" <br />and committee has no objection. <br />2) Finance Committee also met on Aprfl 9th with Directors Corrigan and Petre as <br />well as Commissioner Gorsuch in attendance. Committee discussed Resolution No. 84-18, <br />authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for janitorial ser- <br />vice for the. administrative portion of the City Hall. Committee recommends against <br />adoption. <br />3) Committee also discussed Resolution No. 84-21 which provides for the Safety <br />Director to advertise for bids for janitorial service for the Rec Complex and also <br />recommends against adoption. <br />~,..k~ .. ,t~; <br />
