<br />Madeline Brookshire, North Olmsted, commented that as the Public Relations Officer
<br />for Cuyahoga County Library, she thanked Council for their continued support of the
<br />library.. Mrs. Brookshire also discussed non-partisan elections and voiced her
<br />opposition. Also, she objects to CDBG and Federal Revenue Sharing monies being spent
<br />for General Fund expenditures.
<br />Diane Shultz, 27930 Andorra Drive, discussed the house on Porter Road. President
<br />Boehmer explained the procedure of events.
<br />LEGISLATION:
<br />Ordinance No. 83-96 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its third reading. An
<br />ordinance amending Section 165.03 of the Codified Ordinances entitled "Landmarks
<br />Commission; Creation, Composition and Term" of Chapter 165 entitled "Landmarks
<br />Commission". Mr. Wilamosky moved for adoption, second by Mr. O'Grady.
<br />Mrs. Petrigac made another appeal to include $300 for secretarial services, again
<br />pointing out that all other commissions in the City have this service. Mrs.
<br />Saringer stated that the Landmarks Commission has functioned for five years and
<br />has gotten along perfectly well without a paid secretary; she does not think it
<br />can be compared to the Zoning and Planning Commissions of the City, which are
<br />necessities, whereas the Landmarks Commission is a "frill". Discussion continued.
<br />Mr. O'Grady called for the question.
<br />Roll call on motion to adopt Ordinance No. 83-96. Affirmative vote: O'Grady,
<br />Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Bierman, Petrigac, Rademaker. 4 Aye -
<br />3 Nay - Motion carried. Ordinance No. 83-96 adopted.
<br />Ordinance No. 83-124 introduced by Mr. Bierman was given its third reading. An
<br />ordinance providing for the adoption of a new Section 1173.02(H)2 of the Zoning
<br />Code of the City of North Olmsted of Chapter 1173 entitled "General Retail Business
<br />District", as amended. Mr. Bierman moved for adoption, second by Mr. Tallon.
<br />Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: Bierman, Tallon. Negative vote: O'Grady,
<br />Petrigac, Rademaker, Saringer, Wilamosky. 2 Aye - 5 Nay - Motion defeated.
<br />Ordinance No. 83-124 not adopted.
<br />Resolution No. 84-4 introduced by Mrs. Petrigac was given its third reading. A
<br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to advertise for bids for
<br />four (4) new police cars to be used by the Police Department, one (1) new car to
<br />be used by the Safety Director, one (1) new four to five ton dump truck to be used
<br />by the Parks and Recreation Department and one (1) new chassis for Squad 51 to be
<br />used by the North Olmsted Fire Department, as amended. Mrs. Petrigac moved to
<br />amend Resolution No. 84-4 by deleting the "dump truck to be used by the Parks and
<br />Recreation Department", second by Mr. Wilamosky. Ro11 call on motion: Affirmative
<br />vote: Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. Negative vote:
<br />Rademaker. 6 Aye - 1 Nay - Motion carried. Mrs. Petrigac moved to amend
<br />Resolution No. 84-4 by deleting the "new car to be used by the Safety Director",
<br />second by Mrs. Saringer. Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: Petrigac, Saringer.
<br />Negative vote: Bierman, O'Grady, Rademaker, Tallon, Wilamosky. 2 Aye - 5 Nay -
<br />Motion defeated. Ordinance amended and placed back on second reading.
<br />Resolution No. 84-10 introduced by Mayor Swietyniowski was given its third reading.
<br />A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for
<br />one (1) Jet Vac cleaning machine, one (1) one-ton flat bed truck with power lift
<br />gate and dump bed, and one (1) four-door sedan automobile for use at the Wastewater
<br />Treatment Facilities Plant, and authorizing the Mayor to contract for same, and de-
<br />claring an emergency. Mrs. Petrigac moved to amend Resolution No. 84-10 by deleting
<br />"automobile for use at the Wastewater Treatment Facility", second by Mrs. Saringer.
<br />Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: O'Grady, Petrigac, Rademaker, Saringer,
<br />Wilamosky. Negative vote: Bierman, Tallon. 5 Aye - 2 Nay - Motian carried.
