Council Minutes of 2/21/84 <br />-6- <br />LEGISLATION (cont'd): <br />Resolution No. 84-10 introduced by Mayor Swietyniowski was given its first reading. <br />A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for <br />one (1) Jet Vac cleaning machine, one (1) one-ton flat bed truck with power lift gate <br />and dump bed, and one (1) four-door sedan automobile for use at the Wastewater Treat- <br />ment Facilities Plant, and authorizing the Mayor to contract for same, and declaring <br />an emergency. Referred to Finance Committee. <br />Ordinance No. 84811 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its first reading, An <br />ordinance superceding and repealing Ordinance Numbers 74-166 (1-21-75), 75-195 <br />(9~16~70), 77-31 (3~-1-77), and 77-64 (5-3-77), entfitled "an ordinance to provide <br />for proper grading of land to provide for the drainage of surface water within the <br />City of North Olmsted by providing for the further regulation and inspection of <br />the installation of private storm water drainage systems." Referred to BZD and <br />Streets and Drainage Committees. <br />Ordinance No. 84-12 introduced by Mr. ~~lilamosky was given its first reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the issuance of notes in anticipation of the issuance of bonds <br />for the purpose of acquiring motor vehicles for the Department of Public Safety, <br />and declaring an emergency. Mr. Wilamosky moved for suspension of rule requiring <br />three readings as well as presentation of a Fiscal Officer's Certificate, second <br />by Mrs. Saringer. Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: O'Grady, Rademaker, Beringer, <br />Tallon, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Bierman, Petrigac. 5 Aye - 2 Nay - Motion carried. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved for adoption, second by Mrs. Saringer, unanimously approved. <br />Ordinance No. 84-12 adopted,, <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mr. Wilamosky stated that RTA has recently taken. possession of new equipment; asked <br />the Mayor if the City of North Olmsted will be receiving a proportionate share of <br />this new equipment. Mayor replied that he would get back to Mr. Wilamosky with the <br />information. <br />Mr. Bierman referred to Ordinance rlo. 83-40 which authorized the Director of Public <br />Service to advertise for bids for the removal o.f trash. from condominiums and asked <br />why this had not been done; the ordinance was passed on October 18, 1983. Mayor re- <br />plied that Council never appropriated the money for this project and it would be un- <br />fair for the City to go out for bids without an appropriation. After further discussion, <br />President Boehmer announced that there would be a Council as a Whole Committee Meeting <br />on Monday, February 27th, at 8:30 P.?V1. to examine all the ramifications of condo <br />trash pickup. <br />Mrs. Petrigac asked that a~special invitation be sent to former Councilmen McKay and <br />Woerpel to attend the Open House celebration on Sunday, February 26th. <br />Mrs. Petrigac stated that last Fall she had requested installation of "Slow - Children" <br />signs along Root Road because of the increased traffic due to the closing of .Dover <br />Center Road. She received a reply that no such sign is authorized in the Ohio Traffic <br />Manual and her request was denied. This cannot be true because many of the signs she <br />requested are already in place.. President Boehmer stated that he had one of these <br />signs installed on North Park Drive. Mayor Swietyniowski indicated he would see to <br />the installation of the signs in the Root Road area. <br />Under New Business: <br />President Boehmer announced that a Special Meeting of Council had been scheduled for <br />Monday, February 27th., at 7:30 P.M.
