,~ <br />Council Minutes of 10/1/85 -3- <br />d. Skyline Chili, proposal to build restaurant on north side of <br />Lorain Road, west of Berkshire Drive and east of Stearns Road; approved by ARB <br />and Planning Commission as well as BZD Committee with provision that the <br />directional lighting be addressed by the developer. Mr. Tallon moved Council <br />approve said proposal, with lighting provision, second by Mr. Rademaker, unani- <br />mously approved. <br />e. Forest City Enterprises, 26985 Great Northern Shopping Center, <br />proposal to construct garden center at rear of store; approved by ARB and <br />Planning Committee as well as BZD Committee by a two to one vote. Mr. Bierman <br />cast the dissenting vote because Council had previously turned down a similar <br />operation in the city and he does not feel that it would add anything to the <br />shopping center. Mr. Tallon moved Council approve said proposal, second by <br />Mr. Rademaker. Roll .call on motion: Affirmative vote: O'Grady, Petrigac, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Bierman. 6 Aye - <br />1 Nay - Motion carried. <br />f. Jamestown Apartments, proposal to construct apartments, Phase IV, <br />four buildings/thirty-six units;. approved by ARB and Planning Commission as well <br />as BZD Committee. Mr. Tallon moved Council approve said proposal, second by <br />Mr. Bierman, unanimously approved. <br />g. Adon Equipment Company, proposal to construct building at 23904 <br />Lorain Road; approved by ARB and Planning Commission as wall as BZD Committee. <br />Mr. Tallon moved Council approve said proposal, second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously <br />approved. <br />h. Marathon Oil Company, Lorain and Butternut Ridge Roads, proposal to <br />construct canopy and make exterior alterations. BZA granted three variances; <br />approved by ARB and Planning Commission as well as BZD Committee. Mr. Tallon <br />moved Council approve said proposal, second by Mr. Rademaker. After discussion, <br />Mr. Tallon moved to amend the motion to include a privacy fence along the east <br />boundary line of the property as suggested by Mr. Wilamosky, second by Mrs. <br />Saringer, unanimously approved. Motion to approve proposal as amended by <br />Mr. Tallon, second by Mr. Rademaker, unanimously approved. <br />2) Next order of business were Engineering Department requests as follows: <br />a. Industrial Parkway, site plans for road; approved by ARB and <br />Planning Commission as well as BZD Committee. Mr. Tallon moved Council approve <br />said site plans, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. <br />b. Deerpath Subdivision No. VI; denied by Planning Commission on <br />September 24, 1985; motion to overturn Planning Commission also denied. Mr. Tallon <br />moved Council concur with Planning Commission to deny said request, second by <br />Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee as well as Streets and Drainage <br />Committee reported: 1) Finance Committee met on September 23rd and discussed <br />Ordinance No. 85-102, establishing compensation for hourly employees of the <br />Bus Line; committee has no objection. <br />2) Also met with Director Copeland to discuss the bus for the handicapped which <br />Council previously indicated support of. Director Copeland advised that he had <br />written Olmsted Township trustees as well as the City of Olmsted Falls, detailing <br />cost for their share of the vehicle. Olmsted Falls share is 12/$588; Olmsted <br />Township share is 147/$686; North Olmsted share is 747/$3,624. This does not <br />provide for anything other than the van itself which will accommodate eight <br />passengers, plus two weelchair spaces for a total of ten persons. Commmittee is <br />in the process of preparing a transfer ordinance along with an appropriation <br />ordinance and the cost of the van will be included in this legislation. <br />2) Rest of the meeting was disscussion of line items to be included in the trans- <br />fer and appropriation ordinance to be presented at the next council meeting. <br /> <br />
