<br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairman Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee reported:
<br />1) Safety and Legislative Committees met jointly on Wednesday, April 24th, to dis-
<br />cuss Ordinance No. 85-39 which would prohibit the sale,p~ssession and use of stun
<br />guns. In addition to the committees, Law. Director Gareau, Safety Director Petre and
<br />Chief Marsh were present. After lengthy discussion, Safety Director Petre and
<br />Chief Marsh stated they would research the ordinance further and report back to the
<br />committees. It is the joint committees' recommendation that Ordinance No. 85-39
<br />remain in committee until the additional information is obtained.
<br />2) Mr. O'Grady moved Council have no objection to the transfer of a D2, D2X and D3
<br />liquor permit from Blackbriar Incorporated, dba Blackbriar Inn, 29843 Lorain Road,
<br />1st Floor, North Olmsted, Ohio, to Blackbriar Incorporated, 30850 Lorain Road,
<br />North Olmsted, Ohio, second by Mr. Bierman, unanimously approved.
<br />3) Mr. O'Grady moved Council have no objection to the issuance of an F2 license for
<br />the Church of St. Clarence, 30150 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, for functions on
<br />Thursday, June 20th and Friday, June 21st, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved.
<br />4) Mr. O'Grady moved Council have no objection to the issuance of an F2 license for
<br />the Church of St. Clarence, 30150 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, for functions on
<br />Saturday, June 22nd, and Sunday, June 23rd, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved
<br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee as well as
<br />Transportation Committee reported: 1) North Olmsted Landmarks Commission presented
<br />a special program last night recognizing eleven homes, located on Butternut Ridge
<br />Road, which were built in the early 1800's. This was an outstanding program and a
<br />definite plus for the City; requested President Boehmer to direct the Clerk of Council
<br />to write a letter of appreciation on Council's behalf; Clerk Campbell was so directed.
<br />In the absence of Mr. Tallon, Chairman Building, Zoning and Development Committee,
<br />Mr. Bierman gave the following report: 1) BZD Committee met on May 2nd with Building
<br />Commissioner Gundy, City Engineer Schaller and Councilman O'Grady present. The
<br />following items were discussed:
<br />a. The Eyeworks, 26127 Lorain Road, redesign of building front,
<br />facing Lorain Road. Said redesign would include removal of windows and creating a
<br />new entranceway with window on either side. Plan for redesign approved by ARB and
<br />Planning Commission; BZD Committee also recommends approval. Mr. Bierman moved
<br />Council approve the redesign as stated above, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved
<br />b. Hoty Strip Center development plans, Walter and Lorain Roads,
<br />south side of Lorain Road and just east of Walter Road. Plans include six or seven
<br />units; approved by Planning Commission; BZD recommends approval subject to Police
<br />as well as Engineering Department's approval. Mr. Bierman moved Council approve th.e
<br />development plans as stated above, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved.
<br />c. Dunkin Donuts, 26963 Lorain Road, remodeling plans. Approved by
<br />ARB and Planning Commission. BZD Committee also recommends approval of all re-
<br />modeling, with the exception of two additional pole lights in the parking lot unless
<br />their need is proven, second by Mr. Rademaker, unanimously approved.
<br />2) City Engineer presented a copy of an easement for 7515 Company's Subdivision No. 2;
<br />Ordinance No. 85-50, on first reading tonight, covers this easement.
<br />Mr. Wilamosky stated. that before council considers an easement for water lines for
<br />7515 Company, it should determine if it wants to accept the subdivision; acceptance
<br />of the subdivision has been pending for two years. Council had discussed having
<br />the developer provide access onto Columbia Road. Even though a traffic signal has
<br />been installed at Fawn Drive and Columbia Road, Mr. Wilamosky is still concerned
<br />about the impact of traffic in the area. Law Director Gareau pointed out that the
<br />development of any vacant land impacts on the immediate area. The city's ordin-
<br />ances regulate subdivisions; the input from the City Engineer and the Planning
<br />
