Council Minutes of 3/5/85 _4_ <br />2) City. Engineer Schaller reported back to B7,D Committee with respect to Kacirek <br />Funeral Home. Engineering Department handled their request; no further action was <br />needed. <br />3) The 7515 proposal is in committee and will be discussed at the next BZD meeting. <br />Mr. ?dilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee as well as Streets and Drainage Committee <br />reported: 1) Streets. and Drainage Committee met on February 25th with Engineer <br />Schaller, Director Corrigan and Commissioner Gorsuch also in attendance. Committee <br />discussed the three major roadway projects as previously reported to Council. <br />Committee is considering a recommendation to Council for the use of notes to complete <br />these projects. Also discussed recommending improvements in the area of Holly, <br />Cypress and Magnolia, as well as other streets in the Olmsted Subdivision, be in- <br />cluded. Finance Director Boyle has reported a $2,000,00 plus open bonding capacity <br />at this point in time.. Four projects are included in the discussion of the bond <br />issue: Porter Road, Barton Road, Lessner Road and the streets mentioned in the Olmsted <br />Subdivision. Street conditions not only affect the health and safety of residents <br />but also .home values. Although there has been some criticism about the use of bonds, <br />nobody has suggested an alternative. Will be making a recommendation to Council <br />before the appropriation ordinance is adopted. <br />Letters and Communications: <br />Clerk of Council reported the receipt of a resolution passed by the City of Strongs- <br />ville - Resolution No. 19$5-2, opposing the proposed motor vehicle emmissions in- <br />spection and maintenance program for the State of Ohio. Also, Resolution No. 1985-03, <br />urging General Motors to_locate its Saturn Division in Ohio and further, urging it <br />give Cuyahoga County preferable consideration. President Boehmer referred the <br />legislation to the Legislation Committee. Clerk of Council also reported that a <br />Public Hearing would be held on Tuesday, March 1?_th at 8 P.M. with respect to the <br />Carriage .Carpet Industrial Revenue Bond Issue and a Special Council Meeting, called <br />by the Mayor, would be held on Tuesday, March 12th, immediately following the Public <br />Hearing, to introduce Ordinance No. 85-19, the bond ordinance covering the IRB issue. <br />Audience participation: <br />Lemma Szabo, 30837 Bradley Road, asked what, if_ anything, had been done with respect <br />to the Law Department's investigation of the delayed letter from the State Employee <br />Relations Board; Law Director Gareau indicated it was still being looked into. <br />Madeline Brookshire, 5104 Hampton Drive, asked for the date of the F2 permit <br />function for Bill Lackey; Mr. O'Grady replied it was for March 20th. She also <br />feels that too many city cars are being driven home; if the city would institute some <br />effective cost effective measures, we would have money to do road repairs. <br />LEGISLATIONS <br />Ordinance No. 85-7 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its third reading. An ordin- <br />ance amending Section 1202.02 of the Toning Code entitled "TJses Permitted", of <br />Chapter 1201 of the Zoning Code entitled "Area. TJses and. Standards in Mixed Use <br />Districts A and B", as amended. Mr. T_allon moved for adoption, second by Mr. O'Grady, <br />unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 85-7 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 85-8 introduced by Mr. Bierman was given its third reading. A reso- <br />lution urging the State Legislature to enact legislation. to control registration of <br />pesticide users.
