Council Minutes of 7/15/86 -7- <br />LEGISLATION (cont'd): <br />~; Ordinance No. 86-68 introduced by Mr. Rademaker was given its first reading. <br />An ordinance authorizing and directing-Don Copeland to make application on behalf <br />of the City. of North Olmsted for Community Block Grant Funds for the Fiscal Year <br />1986, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Rademaker moved .for suspension of rule re- <br />quiring three readings, second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. Mr. Rademaker <br />moved for adoption, second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. <br />86-68 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 86-69 introduced by Mayor Petrigac on behalf of the entire <br />Council was given its first reading. A resolution commending the achievement <br />of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. <br />Miscellaneous business: <br />Mrs. Saringer scheduled a BZD Committee Meeting for Tuesday, July 29th, at <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Mr. McKay scheduled a Streets and Drainage Committee Meeting for July 22nd, <br />Tuesday, at 7 o'clock. <br />Mr. Tallon scheduled an Ad Hoc Memorial Committee Meeting for Thursday, July 17th, <br />at 8 o'clock. <br />Mr. Tallon also informed the Mayor that he had received a number of complaints <br />about the lack of grass cutting at North Olmsted Park; the north end was about <br />3-1/2 feet high and was just being cut today. General up-keep of the park is <br />bad; grass hasn't been cut regularly; garbage is not being emptied; the dust from <br />the baseball fields in an on-going complaint. Mayor Petrigac stated that she <br />would check into these problems but suggested that Councilman Tallon contact the <br />Service Director or the Recreation Director with such complaints, instead of <br />waiting to bring them up at a council meeting, and faster action could be taken in <br />alleviating such problems in the future. <br />In response to an inquiry from Mr. McKay at the last council meeting, the Mayor <br />reported that she was advised that the state is no longer cutting the grass around <br />the trees in the I480/Grace Road. area; it is now the city's responsibility and <br />they have already completed the job. <br />In response to a request by Mr. Wilamosky at the last council meeting, all of <br />council has received the data logging the Outreach Worker's time.. <br />President Woerpel requested that the Service Department keep an eye on the vacant <br />property at the corner of Brookpark Extension and Sparky Lane as well as at <br />Brookpark Extension and Dover Center Road; weeds are getting so high as to ob- <br />struct driver's vision. Mayor Petrigac replied-that this complaint has already <br />been reported and the Service Department is dealing with it. <br />Mr. McKay stated that a phone call was received regarding the weed cutting at <br />the park and also complaining that the city workers sit on the hood of the trucks <br />from 2 to 3 P.M. Mayor Petrigac responded that there had been some concern with <br />respect to one young person recently and it was being looked into; some of the <br />workers had been given to the city by the county and this may not be such a bargain. <br />
