Council. Minutes of .7/],5/8b -8-
Miscellaneous business (cont'd):
Mr. O'Grady noted the appointment of Mr. Bud Becker as Safety Director and
asked Mayor Petrigac .for some background as to the extent of her search for
someone to fill this position. Mayor Petrigac replied that she had received
many resumes for various positions; when she was unable to combine the Safety/
Service Departments, she has been acting as Safety Director; in deciding to
fill the position of Safety Director, she again. went back through the resumes
that were on file. Mayor has always been an advocate for long range planning;
in looking at Mr. Becker's resume, discovered. that he does have some training
in this area. Since the Safety Director is over the Building Department she
feels this training will be helpful and that Mr. Becker will serve the city very
well.
Mr. O'Grady said that since Mr. Becker has been appointed as Safety Director,
could he contact ODOT and .ask for a feasibility study to be done in the area
of West 231st and Lorain Road with a view to moving the traffic signal fram
West 229th to the West 231st Street area; traffic light is presently in Fairview
Park. Mayor responded that .Director Becker could certainly contact ODOT and
urge them to look into this request.
Mr. Lackey. discussed the Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion and asked if Zimpro
had furnished the. statistics and their process information as requested by council
and the administration. Mayor responded that she hopes to have something back
from them by the next meeting; is also trying to get more information on the plant
in North Carolina; has also asked Dalton to write the EPA. Mr. Lackey suggested
that a consigned stock arrangement be instituted whereby the stock would be on hand
but would not be paid for until it was needed and used. Discussion continued.
The agenda being completed and there being no further business, President Woerpel
adjourned the council meeting at 9:55 P.M.
Florence E.
