Council Minutes of 9/6/88 _5_ <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Ordinance No. 88-93 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its first reading. An <br />ordinance to transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures <br />for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1988. Mr. Tallon <br />moved for suspension of rule requiring three readings as well as referral to <br />committee., second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. Mr. Tallon moved for <br />adoption, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 88-93 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 88-94 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its first reading. An <br />ordinance creating new and revised Chapter 721 of the North Olmsted Codified <br />Ordinances, entitled "Peddlers, Solicitors, Canvassers and Transient Vendors", <br />and declaring an emergency. Referred to Legislation Committee. <br />Ordinance No. 88-95 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its first reading. An <br />ordinance to transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures <br />for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1988. Referred <br />to Finance Committee. <br />Ordinance No. 88-96 introduced by Mr. Boehmer was given its first reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the sale of surplus personal property owned by the City of <br />North Olmsted and previously used by the Department of Public Service, the <br />Safety Department and the Recreation Complex, and declaring an emergency. Mr. <br />Boehmer moved for suspension of rule requiring three readings as well as referral <br />to committee, second by Mrs. Bahas, unanimously approved. Mr. Boehmer moved for <br />adoption., second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 88-96 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 88-97 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its first reading. <br />An ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the City of <br />Westlake for the joint cooperation in paving Maple Ridge Road, between Walter <br />Road and Columbia Road, and declaring an emergency. Referred to joint Streets <br />and Drainage/Finance Committees. <br />Ordinance No. 88-98 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its first reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Director of Law for the City of North Olmsted to <br />approve and sign,. on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, a final judgment <br />settlement entry in the case of Romp Realty v. City of North Olmsted, Court of <br />Common Pleas, Cuyahoga County, Case No. 69188, and declaring an emergency. <br />Mr. Tallon moved for suspension of rule requiring three readings as well as <br />referral to committee, second by Mrs. Bahas. Roll call on motion: Affirmative <br />cote: Bahas, Boehmer, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon. Negative vote: Bohlmann.. 5 Aye - <br />1 Nay - Motion carried. Mr. Tallon moved for adoption, second by Mrs. Bahas, <br />unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 88-98 adopted. <br />Miscellaneous Business: <br />As a point of clarif ication for the residents from Selhurst and Silverdale, <br />Mayor Petrigac commented that Ordinance No. 88-97, the paving of Maple Ridge <br />Road, is an inter-governmental piece of legislation whereby Westlake will pick <br />up the entire cost of $60,000 and North Olmsted's share of that cost, $30,000, <br />would be paid back at a later date. This is just on first reading; it has <br />been referred to committee to see if money could be found for the project to <br />be done at the same time - in Westlake's part of the road and in North 0lmsted's. <br />~_s.,,,~,.,~ _ ,- <br />
