Council Minutes of 4/19/88 _4_
Mr. McKay, Chairman Environmental Control Committee and Streets and Drainage
Committee reported: 1) With respect to flooding in the Deerfield Subdivision,
letters have been sent to homeowners who have their downspouts connected to
the sanitary sewer system advising that they have 45 days to correct this
violation.
2) With respect to the Barton/Bradley area, the current drainage ditch does not
have enough "fall"'to effectively discharge the storm water. With the development
of the Industrial Park, which will drain to the north, it was felt that a straight
ditch, with a culvert underneath Bradley Road, will help get rid of storm water.
Further discussions will be held at future meetings.
Road and 1480; suggested a "no left turn" coming from Fairview, going west,
between 7 A.M. and 9 A.M. as well as placing a police car there in the morning
to enforce observance of the traffic signal. Councilman O'Grady advised that he
has already sent a legislative request to the Law Department to provide for "no
right turn on red 7A.M. to 9 A.M., Weekdays Only" for traffic travelling in an
easterly direction on Brookpark. Further, has requested an ordinance to provide
for "no left turns, 7 A.M. to 9 A.M., Weekdays Only" for traffic travelling in a
westerly direction on Brookpark Road where the same intersects Clague Road. This
should provide some relief for the problems on south Clague.
Cliff Crabs, 25575 Butternut Ridge Road, thanked council for passing legislation
at the last meeting which allowed him to sell his property. Pointed out that
the state law, Section 3791.031, which prohibits smoking, is being flagrantly
ignored by some city off icials and reporters. Would like the. no smoking ban en-
forced. President Saringer promised to call attention to people violating this
prohibition.
Robert Moyer, 27503 Blossom, discussed Senior Center funds; feels they should be
allowed to keep their money out of the city coffers and invest it for themselves.
Finance Director Boyle invited Mr. Moyer to meet with him so he could explain how
the Senior Center funds were being handled.
