Council Minutes of 11/21/89
-5-
Audience participation:
Wanda Conley, 24875 Fawn Drive, Deerfield Estates, commented on the Mayor's
report with respect to sump pumps for the Deerfield Estates; this is the
first she heard of them; would they take the place of the hydro-brakes. Mayor
responded that there are some areas that are lower than the storm sewers and
they need to be identified for the installation of sump pumps. They will
definitely not take the place of hydro-brakes. Mrs. Conley stated she would
like to see the EPA tap-in ban continued.
Gerri Gerding, 25139 Chase Drive, reported that she has been monitoring the
sealing of the streets in her development, the Deerfield Estates. Feels the
job being done by the Service Department crews is shoddy. If the hydro-brake
process is going to work, everyone must give 110 or it will be a complete
waste of money. Councilwoman Bahas noted that she also had been down in this
area to check on the sealing of the roadways. Had picked up pieces of sealing
material that had been lifted up by running water in the street; displayed
pictures where the sealing had floated away. Is also very concerned about the
sealing holding; understands Mrs. Gerding's concerns and agrees that the hydro-
brakes will not work unless the streets. are 100 sealed. Mayor Petrigac stated
she would discuss this problem with Service Director Noble.
LEGISLATION:
Ordinance No. 89-85 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was gives its third reading.
