• _ Council Minutes of 6/20/89 -4- <br />1. Prepare the existing curb cut. <br />2. Add a rear security light. <br />3. Add further landscaping to the front entrance of the building <br />to prevent cars using parking spaces No. 1 and No. 14 on the <br />drawing from backing up onto the sidewalk. <br />Mr. Tallon moved council accept the proposal of Bud Koczor Insurance as stated <br />above, including the BZD additions, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. <br />c. Biskind Development Company, Great Northern Corporate Center, <br />25000 Country Club Boulevard, amendment to preliminary development plan.; mixed- <br />use district, i.e. addition of a restaurant. Approved by Planning Commission on <br />May 23, 1989. BZD concurs and approved. This change basically alters .the <br />preliminary plan of a mixed-use district to allow for the construction of a free- <br />standing restaurant which was not included on the original plan. Mr. Tallon moved <br />council accept the proposal of Biskind Development Company as stated above, second <br />by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. <br />d. Centerior Energy Corporation, Cleveland Electric Illuminating <br />Company property located on the south side of Lorain Road, west of Charles Road, <br />proposal to construct a crystal substation. Proposal heard by Board of Zoning <br />Appeals on May 3rd and ARB on May 17, 1989. Approved by Planning Commission on <br />May 23, 1989. BZD concurs and approved the proposal with the following inclusions: <br />1. Lighting on west side of property will be moved to <br />south side. <br />2. Enclosure on rear and east side will be a solid enclosure <br />as is on the front. <br />3. Sound batting will be installed to eliminate any noise. <br />4, Klaxon horn, which is a signaling device to any of the <br />tenders who are there to service the substation, will <br />be eliminated. <br />Mr. Tallon moved council accept the proposal of Centerior Energy Corporation, in- <br />cluding the BZD additions, second by Mr. O'Grady. Roll call on motion: Affirma- <br />tive vote: Tallon, O'Grady, Wilamosky, McKay, Bohlmann. Abstained: Boehmer. <br />5 Aye - 1 Abstention - Motion carried. <br />e. Drive-up Telephone Station, 23370 Lorain Road, presented by <br />Building Commissioner Conway. Committee had no objection. Mr. Tallon moved council <br />accept the proposal for the above stated telephone station, second by Mr. Bohlmann, <br />unanimously approved. <br />2) The next order of business was from the Engineering Department: Cambridge <br />Crossings Estates Subdivision; plotting of the. resolution accepting for recording <br />purposes only the Cambridge Crossings Estates Subdivision, The plotting was brought <br />before BZD Committee for consideration. When plotting was originally submitted, <br />it was agreed that a traffic survey would be done on the feasibility of a traffic <br />signal on Stearns and Dorchester. Traffic survey was done and revealed that it was <br />not feasible - it did not meet .the state requirements and state warrants. Legisla- <br />tion had been requested and is on first reading tonight - Resolution No. 89-55. <br />Audience participation: <br />The following residents again addressed the flooding problems of the City of North <br />Olmsted: Frank Geffert, 4336 Lansing; Bob Ladick, 24237 Woodmere; Gerry Gerding, <br />25139 Chase; Joan Puinno, 27181 Gloucester; David Glowe, 5911 Forest Ridge; Mike <br />Boland, 23559 Stoneybrook. <br />Henry Reichel, 5654 Columbia Road, described the poor work done by a plumber for <br />a Stoneybrook resident; Law Director advised they have a right to go into small <br />claims court to try to recover their money. If the city plumbing inspector finds <br />that he has done the work inappropriately and refuses to correct it, the city can <br />revoke his plumbing license. <br />
