.' . ~ Council Minutes of 2/6/89 -4- b. Romp Plaza, Drug Mart, 24485 Lorain Road, proposal to construct addition for retail and storage; revision to existing building and site plan. This was a court settlement; the plan was approved by the court; no revisions to the plan can be made other than lighting and drainage. After reviewing the plans, committee requested that the existing light, at the rear of Danny Boys, be shielded. The developer stated he had no problem with that and would shield the light. Mr. Tallon moved council approve the Romp Plaza proposal as above stated, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. c. Buckeye Lanes, 24488 Lorain Road, presentation of parking lot lighting plan; poles are installed. This presentation was brought to the BZD Committee after the Building Commissioner .saw that the poles had been installed without a permit being issued. Upon investigation, it was determined that CEI was in- stalling the light and is not required to have a permit, however, the owner does have to submit a lighting plan to the Planning Commission. Planning Commission approved the plan after the owner agreed to shield the lights if there was any glare or nuisance caused by them. Unfortunately, the committee has no control over the esthetic development of lighting poles by CEI; they are ugly, wooden poles stuck in the ground with lights sticking out on top of them. Committee would like to address this problem to see if legislation could be enacted to require an esthetically pleasing type of pole.. Mr. Tallon also reported that the owner agreed to clean up the area and also to fix and maintain the cleanliness as well as to take care of the fence. Mr. Tallon moved council approve the Buckeye Lanes parking lot lighting plan, second by Mr. Bohlmann. Roll call on motion: Aff irmative vote: Bahas, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Bohlmann. Abstained: Boehmer. 5 Aye - 1 Nay - 1 Abstention - Motion carried. d. Sohio Service Station, 29131 Lorain Road, proposal to construct storage building, continued from December 13th meeting. This is basically a small storage shed to protect snow blowers,. shovels, etc. and will also enclose the dumpster. Mr. Tallon moved council approve the Sohio Service Station proposal as above stated, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. e. Bentley/Coe Plaza, south side of Lorain Road, between Coe Avenue and Bentley Drive, proposal to construct shopping center. Approved by ARB and Planning Commission. Developer presented two plans: one plan included a rear exit onto Bentley and the other one, Plan A-lA, which has two entrances on Lorain Road - none on Bentley and Coe - was the plan approved by Planning Commission, ARB and the BZD Committee. Mr. Tallon moved .council approve the Bentley/Coe Plaza Plan A-lA, as above stated, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. f. Plus Sizes, 26005 Great Northern Shopping Center, Number 12, proposal to renovate front of unit. This is a minor exterior change to .the front of Donlevy's Back Room, to clean up and present a more uniform look and to in- corporate the Plus Size sign. Planning Commission unanimously approved and BZD Committee concurred. Mr. Tallon moved council accept the Plus Sizes, reno- vation proposal as above stated, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. LEGISLATION: Ordinance No. 86-92 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its first reading. An ordinance amending Section 1213.04 of the Zoning Code of the .City of North Olmsted entitled "Improvements of Parking Areas" of Chapter 1213 entitled "Detailed Requirements", as amended. Mr. Tallon moved to table Ordinance No. 86-92, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 86-92 tabled. Mr. Wilamosky asked that the record reflect that the City Planner is currently reviewing a section similar to this legislation and it will be dealt with through his recommendations.
