w <br />Council Minutes of 12/4/90 <br />Mr. Nashar asked if there had been any discussion about the State <br />requiring a deposit on returnables acid plastic bottles. <br />Mr. McKay responded that many of the 50 pieces of legislation now before <br />the State are bottle ordinances. Ohio will probably have legislation on <br />this issue in the future; Oregon aril Michigan currently have bottle <br />bills. As time goes by, recycling is going to get tighter and tighter <br />because everyone is running out of space. <br />Mr. Tallon, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported: 1) The Finance <br />Committee met on December 8 at 8 p.m. In attendance were: Committee <br />members, Council President Boehmer, Council Member Nashar, Personnel and <br />Administrative Dir. Wilamosky, Service Dix. Bohlmann, Rec. Dept. Dir. <br />Fattlar, Safety Dir. Gundy, and Finance Dir. Burns. The Committee <br />discussed Ordinance 90-149, an ordinance to set fees for the Rec. <br />Department. After a lengthy discussion, Section 3, Par. D. was deleted. <br />This section dealt with rates for special groups; it was decided that <br />since the pool area has been renovated, there would not be a need for <br />partial renovations by special groups. The remaining recommendations <br />were approved by the Committee. The new rates will bring us in line <br />with neighboring communities and private industry that have similar <br />facilities. <br />2) The Committee agreed to make money available for participation in the <br />Government seminar on recreation funds. An ordinance providing for an <br />inter-fund transfer into the Educational Training Fund will be presented <br />tonight and passed under suspension of the rules. <br />3) The Committee also discussed end-of-year transfers and the upcoming <br />temporary appropriations for the year 1991. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee <br />reported: 1) Moved Council have no objection to the issuance of an F-2 <br />liquor permit for the St. Augustine Church hunger Center for an event to <br />be held on Saturday, December 15 at 30106 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted; <br />second by Mr. Leonard; passed unanimously. <br />2) Moved Council have no objection to tha issuance of an F-2 permit for <br />the Kiwanis Club of North OLnsted for an affair to be held on New Year's <br />Eve at 29271 Lorain Rd.; second by Mr. Nashar; passed unanimously. <br />3) Moved Council have no objection to the issuance of an F-Z permit for <br />the St. Brendan's New Year's Eve Comni.ttee for an affair to be held on <br />New Year's Eve on Brendan and Kenny Lanes; second by Mr. Leonard; passed <br />unanimously. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 89-48 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third <br />reading. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for the repair of Sunset Oval, and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. McKay moved to table; second by Mr. Nashar; passed <br />unanimously. Resolution No. 89-48 tabled. <br /> <br />3 <br />
