Council Minutes of 10/16/90
<br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee
<br />reported: 1) The Safety Committee met jointly with the Finance
<br />Committee. Mr. Gundy, Safety Director, was also in attendance. Street
<br />light conversion for Lorain Road was discussed. The cost of this
<br />program will be $15,667; the Committee recommends passage but suggests
<br />waiting until 1991 to see if funds are available.
<br />2) Mr. O'Grady presented the following liquor permit requests:
<br />a. Moved that Council have no objection to the issuance of a D-2
<br />permit for the Electronic Theatre Restaurant Corp., DBA Chuck E. Cheeses
<br />Pizza Time Theatre, 7900 Plaza Blvd., Mentor, Ohio; second by Mr. McKay;
<br />passed unanimously.
<br />b. Moved that Council have no objection to the issuance of a C-1
<br />liquor permit to Hills Stores Co., DBA Hills Dept. Store, 26666
<br />Brookpark Extension, North OLnsted, Ohio; second by Mr. McKay; passed
<br />unanimously.
<br />c. Moved that Council have no objection to the issuance of azi F-2
<br />permit for the St. Clarence Fmerald Ball Committee, 30106 Lorain Road,
<br />North Olmsted, Ohio; second by Mr. Leonard; passed unanimously.
<br />d. Moved that Council have no objection to the issuance of C-2,
<br />C-ZX, and D-6 liquor permit for SuperAmerica Group, Inc., DBA Payless
<br />2128, at 27447 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio from Tru Bru Inc., DBA
<br />Payless, 27447 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio; second by Mr. Nashar.
<br />Ro]1 call: Ayes, O'Grady, Nashar, Tallon, Leonard; Nays, McKay, Bahas.
<br />Motion passed with 4 ayes and 2 nays.
<br />e. Moved that Covncil have no objection to the issuance of a C-1,
<br />C-2 liquor permit to SuperAmerica Group Inc., DBA SuperAmerica 5084,
<br />24046 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio from Hopstein Corp., DBA
<br />SuperAmerica, 24046 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio; second by Mr.
<br />Nashar. Roll call: Ayes, O'Grady, Nashar, Tallon, Leonard; Nays,
<br />McKay, Bahas. Motion passed with 4 ayes and 2 nays.
<br />f. Moved that Council have no objection to a D-5B liquor permit to
<br />G. N. Garus Corp., DBA Olga's Kitchen, 4910 Great Northern Mall, North
<br />Olmsted, Ohio; second by Mr. Tallon; passed unanimously.
<br />Mr. Nashar, Chairmazi of the Streets and Drainage Committee reported:
<br />1) The water main break on Butternut and Great Northern Blvd. was
<br />repaired .quickly and service has been restored. Butternut will be
<br />reopened to traffic in 5 to 7 days.
<br />2) Suggested the new City flag be installed in Chambers.
<br />Audience Participation
<br />Christine Walters, 5669 Dorothy, wanted to know what the City is doing
<br />about recycling other than the collection of alimiinum cans at the Fire
<br />Department.
