Council Minutes of 9/18/90 <br />(a) Ordinance 90-95 providing for issuance of the sale of <br />$1,200,000 notes in anticipation of bonds for the purpose of improving <br />the Municipal Sanitary Sewer System was approved. Ordinance ~-100 <br />providing for advertising for bids for 3,000 tons of salt was approved. <br />(b) The Committee approved the cost of the flashing lights in the <br />school zone of Abundant Living Christian School. <br />(c) There is a shortfall in the Gasoline Brie item for the bus <br />garage due to increased prices caused by the Mideast crisis. This will <br />be taken care of by year's end through new appropriations. <br />(d) Monies will be reappropriated to cover slight increases in <br />certain funds for insurance premiums. Overall, there will be a <br />reduction in the premium. <br />(e) The Committee agreed to fund the topographical study of the <br />property on Butterrrut Ridge for Horizons; cost to be $2,000. <br />(f) Ordinance 90-130, a transfer of appropriations to street repair <br />material, was discussed. <br />(g) Interfund transfers were made in the Sewer Revenue Fund to <br />cover some in-plant equipment. <br />Audience Participation: <br />Wanda Corey, 1'~~+875 Fawn Drive, wants the city to address the flooding <br />problem. Recently had 3 or more inches of water in her garage and <br />driveway; has also had water in the basement in the past. <br />Walt Viergutz, Sunset Oval, asked when the paving of Sunset Oval would <br />begin. <br />Mr. Bohlmann explained that contracts for this work are presently being <br />drawn up and this job will be completed by the end of the year. <br />Mr. Tallon explained that same of the fiords being added to street repair <br />material would be used for Sunset Oval. <br />Joseph Kortan, 6355 Barton Road, wanted to know what Council and the <br />City of North Olmsted is going to do to relieve the floodin4g problem. <br />He has had flooding for all twenty-five years of his residence in the <br />city. <br />Mr. Bohlmann stated City Engineers have been looking at the problem on <br />Barton Road; another diversionary stone culvert pipe will be put in. <br />John Maloney, 24782 Arlington Lane, expressed concern over Ordinance No. <br />90-107. Feels residents of the general area have not been given enough <br />information as to the overall development for the parcel of land.. He is <br />concerned over buildings rising to 200 feet, overtaxing our sewer <br />system, an increase of police protection, and increased taxes on <br />residents to pay for these changes. <br />4 <br /> <br />
