Council Minutes of 5/$/91
Mrs. Saringer asked for clarification on when the work on Marion Road
and Clifford Drive would begin.
Mr. Bohlmarui stated that the engineering for both streets would be done
in 1991. Construction will begin on Marion Drive in 1991. Because the
Clifford Drive project stands a good chance of being fiuxied through
Issue II money, that work will begin in 1992. Also, engineering will be
done this year on Stoneybrook Drive.
Mrs. Saringer asked if the street lighting survey was under way.
Mr. Bohlmanri replied that the surveys would be taken. Also, the
Homeowners' Association of Park Ridge Estates is currently taking a poll
of residents to determine if they want street lighting. Since the City
is currently working on storm sewer rehabilitation in that area, it
would be an insignificant cost to put in street lighting; indeed there
may already be underground wiring in place. With regard to street
repairs, Angela, Nancy and Louarm Drives will also be under construction
in 1991.
Mr. ricKay asked Mr. Bohlmarm if he way in possession of a list of people
requesting street lights; the list has been in existence for at least
ten years and should have been passed cxi from the previous
administration.
Mr. Bohlmann stated that he did not have such a list; but if Mr. McKay
has a copy, he would be glad to take care of those requests. The City
has been responding to individual requests for street lighting--Beaumont
Drive, Palm Drive, and a couple of streets off of Revere have been done.
In ~d.ition, the City has been engaged in a street lighting .program on
Lorain Road. Also, Pheasant Walk and Tallwood have been done;
Pebblebrook is due to be done; Barton, Bradley, and McKenzie have been
requested.
The Clerk read a letter from the 1991 All-Scouts Weekend Steering
Committee to Council Members inviting them to take part in the Al1-
Scouts Weekend of June 7, 8, 9.
Audience Participation
Kenneth Thomas, 23211. Marion Drive, questioned the need for the "No
Parking" ban fran 2 a.m. until 6 a.m.; and he wanted to know why signs
were riot posted an every street.
Mr. Gareau answered that it had been established that it is appropriate
to give notice by posting the "No Parking" sign at the corporate
entrance. Posting of signs an every street would be cost prohibitive
axxl unsightly. Also, Council has determined that for safety reasons
parking should be banned during those hours.
3
