Council Mirrutes of 4/2/91
7) Our Building Inspectors have all been tested and re-certified.
8) Recently, a resident from Tara Lynn came to Council to discuss the
problem of cxacks in the basement walls of her new hoc~e. On
investigation of this situation, we have not fourxi the problem to be as
presented. The contractor, who is now building at Cambridge Crossings,
was notified of the problem. For his own reasons, he has begun
utilizing different water-proofing methods and materials, which seem to
be better.
9) The list of streets to be repaired and/or replaced this year will be
discussed at Council's Struts and Drainage Committee meeting later this
month. The following is a list of the work that has recently taken
place or is about to begin:
a. Issue 2projects--Country Club Blvd. has been advertised and bid
opening will be April 18; construction will begin late May or early
June. Advertising for Elm Road will begin in a couple of weeks;
advertising for the sanitary sewer rehab will begin soon.
b. Sunset Oval bid opening is in two weeks; work will probably begin in
June.
c. Preliminary engineering is being done on Gateau Drive, Park Ridge
Drive, Sherwood Drive, Forest Ridge Drive south of Lorain, Lyrn~hsven
Drive, Windsor Drive, Marion Avenue, Clifford Drive, Terrace, Nancy,
Luarm, and Angela.
d. We have received engineering proposals on Selhurst, Silverdale, and
Duexre .
10) With regard to the sewer work in drainage basin one, we had bid
43,500 linear feet for the main line grouting; at this time, we have
completed 65,204 linear feet, or 150X of the project. We have completed
192 spot repairs. We bid 2,700 linear feet; we have already colleted
2,489 linear feet. On lining, we bid 3,900 linear feet; we have
completed 4,188 and expect to do another 3,100 feet. On connection
grouting and replacement, we bid 14,700 linear feet; we have completed
8,400; after doing tv work, we have determined that another 32,500 feet
needs to be done. We have had some delays in work because one sub-
contractor had to be replaced and because of the record rainfall last
year. However, we will very soon be back on schedule.
11) We have notified 1,700 residents about possible lateral work.
A series of three letters go aut to these residents. If there is no
response, we go door to door.
12) Some residents have ex~xressed concern about removing pumps so soon.
We have asked the EPA for pernussion to leave the pumps in place through
this simmer; hopefully, we won't have to turn them on.
Law Director Gateau reported: 1) Yesterday, we submitted a motion for
summary judgment in the Eliza Jennings case; they have also submitted a
motion for stnm~ary judgment. The case has been assigned to Judge Gaul,
and he will probably raake a ruling within 60 days.
2) We have lost the Clark Oil case in the Court of Appeals; we are going
to try to get the case into the Supreme Court.
2
...,,.. ~ ,ti.~~.~~1.~,~~,«
