Council Minutes of 3/19/91 <br />g. In Chapter 1149.04, C, General. Setback, there was a good deal of <br />discussion on this section and it was decided to complete the discussion <br />at the next meeting. <br />h. Comments from Mr. Fred Bower, Shorewest Construction Company, <br />concerning cluster development were discussed. <br />2) The regular BZD Committee met on March 13. In attendance were:. <br />Committee members Beringer, Talton, Nashar; Building Inspector Dave <br />Banker; Assistant Engineer Dave McDermott. On the agenda were: <br />a. St. Richard's Church, 26855 Lorain Road, proposal to construct a <br />trussed roof on the rectory. Mr. Kelly, the project architect, was in <br />attendance. This was approved by Planning Commmission on December 11 and <br />by ARB on December 19. Because the side yard of the building did not <br />conform to the corner lot sett~eck requirement a special permit was <br />granted by the Zoning Board of Appeals on February 13. Moved to approve <br />the trussed roof on St. Richard's rectory with the reco~nendations of <br />the Planning Commission and ARB; second by Mr. Talton; passed <br />unanimously. <br />b. Shell Oil Co., 23385 Lorain Road, proposal to construct a food mart. <br />Walter Moore, consultant for Shell Oil, and Paul Scheel, the engineer <br />for Shell Oil, were in attendance. Shell had requested three variances <br />from the BZA Conmittee; two were passed on February 13. The one <br />request that was denied was fora 4 foot sq. variance for a pole sign. <br />Trash containers will be painted to match the buildings and the dumpster <br />will be closed by a cedar beard on board fence. Moved to approve the <br />Shell Oil Co. proposal for a food mart with the recommendations of the <br />Planning Commission and ARB; second by Mr. McKay; passed unanimQUSly. <br />c. Great Northern Shopping Center Plaza North renovation to the canopy <br />was discussed. George Papandreas, representing Biskind Development Co., <br />and Dennis McDonough, architect for Plaza North, were in attendance. <br />This proposal was approved ~ ARB on February 20 anti Planning Commission <br />on February 12. Moved t© agave the renovation to the canopy at Great <br />Northern Shopping Center Plaza North with the recc~mendatons of <br />Planning Commission and ARB; secorxl by Mr. Leonard; passed unanimously. <br />d. The proposal to renovate Great Northern Mall Entries I, II, III was <br />discussed. This was approved by Planning Commission on February 12 and <br />by ARB on February 20. A detailed plan of the landscaping will be <br />submitted. Moved to approved the renovations of Mall Entries I, II, <br />III; second by Mr. Nashar; passed unanimously. <br />e. Horizons Activity Center, 26272 Butternut Ridge Road, was discussed. <br />Mr. Dave Smith from Horizons was in attendance and presented the parking <br />plan which had been requested at an previous meeting. The parking will <br />be for staff only. The utilities are not resolved as yet; however, <br />drawings on the storm and sewer tie-ins will be submitted. Moved to <br />approve the Horizons Activity Center with the provisions that the <br />utility drawings are submitted to the Engineer ar~d the parking be used <br />for staff purposes only; second by Mr. McKay; passed unanimously. <br />3 <br />~..~.~~ <br />
