<br />3) The next BZD meeting to review the Zoning Code will be held on
<br />Tuesday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m.
<br />Mr. McKay, Chairperson of the Environmental Control Cc~muuttee reported:
<br />1) The West Shore Solid Waste Citizens Advisory Committee met on March
<br />13 to review bids on the materials recycling facility. The review will
<br />be continued on March 24, and a decision will be made at that meeting.
<br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare
<br />Committee reported: 1) Moved Council have no objection to the transfer
<br />of D1, D3, D3X liquor permits fra~n Wayne's Bar Inc., DBA Don's Bar,
<br />29919 Lorain Road, to Wayne's Bar Inc., 4949 Great Northern Boulevard.
<br />This is the liquor permit for the new Chester Restaurant. Motion was
<br />seconded by Mrs. Bahas; passed unanimously.
<br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Streets and Drainage Committee reported:
<br />1) The Service Department has sent out a survey as part of the City's
<br />street lighting program. The majority of returned surveys are in favor
<br />of putting street lighting in neighborhood areas. The following work
<br />has been canpleted or is in the process of completion: Tallwcrod is
<br />complete; Pheasant Walk is being installed; Pebblebrook is scheduled for
<br />April; work is in progress on Lorain Road. The old fixtures are being
<br />replaced, arr3 an efficient, high-sodium light. is being installed. Other
<br />areas to be done in 1991 are: Barton road; Bradley Road; McKenzie Road.
<br />Mr. Tallon, Chairperson of the Finance Committee reported: 1) The
<br />appropriations ordinance was discussed by the Finance Committee on the
<br />following days:
<br />a. Monday, March 4, the following was discussed: General Fund offices,
<br />Mayor's office, Council office, Finance office, Service, Safety,
<br />Personnel, Engineering, and Senior Center.
<br />b. Topics for Thursday, March 7, were: Building Department, Police
<br />Department, and Fire Department.
<br />c. On Monday, March 11, the Sewer Fund and Engineering were reviewed.
<br />d. On Wednesday, March 13, the Service Department, the Motor Vehicle
<br />Tax Fund, the State Highway Fund, and the Street Maintenance Funds were
<br />reviewed.
<br />e. On Monday, March 18, the Recreation Fund, all other one-purpose
<br />funds, acid salaries for the nan-bargaining unit perso~el were reviewed.
<br />This discussion was quite lengthy and will be continued on Thursday,
<br />March 21 at 8 p.m.
<br />2) The street repair line item has been funded with $1,584,000 in order
<br />to repair 70 City streets. In addition, Issue 2 money will grovide
<br />$2,077,000 to be used for City streets this year. The permanent capital
<br />fund, which includes i.nccxne tax monies, will include $50,000 for repair
<br />of drainage at the Rec. Center; $10,000 for repair to the Police roof;
<br />$50,000 for computerization of gas pumps; $500,000 for the Park Ridge
<br />development; $115,000 for new cars.
