...,
Council Minutes of 3/19/91
Audience Partici tion (continued)
Margaret McKay, 19 o is Roa , is also concerned about the article
as printed in the Sun Herald. She asked that if there is a misunder-
standing about the raises, that it be clarified. She feels it may have
been better for the raises to be given in gradual increments. She asked
the Administration and. Council to take the state of the economy arxi the
high unemployment rate into consideration when determining the budget.
Mr. Tallon commented that Council does not take the feelings of the
residents or of the Mayor lightly. He feels it was unfortunate that the
newspaper article did not report that the figures given were proposals
and not the final detern~ination. Before making a final determination,
Council will hear from the Mayor, Di.rector~, Ani.strators, and
Department Heads. Council will formulate a budget that will make
everyone proud and will pay all City employees a fair and just wage.
In addition, the appropriations for 1993. will do more for the City than
has been done in the past ten years.
Margaret McKay, Chairperson of the Mayor's Ball, announced that the Ball
would be held on April 20 at Wagr~er's Country Inn. The cost is $50 per
person and will benefit the Girl Scouts aril Boy Scouts of North Olmsted.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Please contact Minnie Cn~nbley for
reservations.
As a last comment and on a lighter note, Mayor Boyle noted that freedom
of government had certainly been in evidence at this meeting--he had
been chastised for his appropriations by his baby-sitter and the
Chairperson of the Mayor's Ball.
LEGISLATION
ice No. 91-44 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its third
reading.
