Council Minutes of 1/2/91 <br />7) Moved Council reappoint John J. Thomas to the Planning Commission <br />for the term beginning January 1, 1991 through December 31, 1994 and <br />Thomas Morgan for the term beginning January 1, 1991 through December <br />31, 1995; second by Mrs. Saringer; passed unanimously. <br />8) 'Ihe Recreation Complex will host ~ Open douse on Sunday, January <br />13, from 1 to 4 p.m. Improvements that have been made at the Recreation <br />Complex include the following: <br />a. Improved and replaced the roof and decking. <br />b. Insulation has been added to the outside walls. <br />c. Several front doors have been replaced. <br />d. New floor in the entry area. <br />e. Permanent nursery area. <br />f. Improved heating aril air-conditioning. <br />g. Elevator to the gymnastic center. <br />h. Improved handicap access. <br />i. Improved dehumidification system to provide heat to the pool <br />area. <br />j. Anew ventilation system. <br />k. General painting axxi sprucing up. <br />1. Added a new classroom. <br />m. New carpeting in the gymnastics room. <br />Mr. Fattlar, Mr.Gundy, and the Recreation Conmiission are to be cam~ended <br />for their hard work. <br />Audience Participation <br />Mr. Frank Gef ert, •+~3r6 Lansing Drive, spoke about the flooding problems <br />he has been experiencing sing the installation of the sewers in 1972. <br />He, and many of his neighbors, experienced sanitary flooding this past <br />weekend. Iie feels that the problem could be temporarily alleviated by <br />the installation of a lift station between Lansing and Martin Drives. <br />Mr. Geffert was also concerned about the infiltration of storm water <br />into sanitary lines. Fie would appreciate a timetable as to when the <br />flooding problems on Lansing Drive will be addressed. <br />Mayor Boyle expressed concern over the flooding in the Lansing Drive <br />area; unfortunately, this area is not included in the EPA mandated Phase <br />I and II. He told Mr. Geffert that work done this past weekend on the <br />Dover lift statioa~ should help reduce flooding on Lansing Drive. Also, <br />the problem of infiltration is the second largest problem of the sewer <br />system aixl work is proceeding on this. The Mayor and Mrs. Bahas <br />suggested that Mr. Geffert meet with Service Director Bohlmann to get <br />detailed answers to some of his questions. <br />Mr. Rick Mengel, 4384 Lansing Drive, also expressed concern over the <br />flooding of the past weekend. He has made improvements to his have to <br />try to prevent flooding. Mr. Mengel remarked that the ditches on <br />Lansing Drive between Oring and the Westlake line have not been cleaned <br />since at least 1987. <br />4 <br /> <br />
