t <br /> <br />Council Minutes of 5/19/92 <br />Mr. Musial said that, as the proud parent of three Eagle Scouts, he wanted to <br />commend and congratulate the parents for their efforts in making it possible for <br />their sons to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />President Boehmer introduced former Mr. Scouter and 1991 Citizen of the Year, <br />David Dillon. <br />Mr. Dillon addressed Council arxi invited members of Council and the Administra- <br />tion to take part in the All Scouts Weekend. of June 5, 6, and 7. He introduced <br />the 1992 Mr. and Mrs. Scouter, Mr. David Cadwallader and Mrs. Carol Liedtke. Mr. <br />Dillon introduced the 1992 Honorary Officials: <br />Mayors <br />Law Director <br />Finance Director <br />President of Council <br />Ward I Councilperson <br />Ward II Councilperson <br />Ward III Councilperson <br />Ward IV Councilperson <br />Councilperson=at-Large <br />Councilperson-at-Large <br />Councilperson-at-Large <br />Clerk of Council <br />Richelle Solt and James Livingston <br />Dennis Livingston <br />Matt Plotecher <br />Jeff Blankenburg <br />Jim Black <br />Heather Smith <br />Brenda Black <br />Jamie Hauser <br />Colin Zimmerman <br />Jennifer Adams <br />Greg Plantner <br />Lisa Dunn <br />Mayor Boyle presented proclamations to the Eagle Scouts Mark Spiezio, Jeff <br />Blankenburg, and Jim Livingston. <br />Mayor Boyle presented a proclamation to Rose Geib in recognition of the buddy <br />poppy sale during the Manorial Day Weekend. Mrs. Geib is Chairperson of the <br />sales campaign for VFW Post 4667. The proceeds of the sale are used exclusively <br />for the benefit of disabled and needy veterans arid. the widows and orphans of <br />deceased veterans. <br />Mr. Boehaner recognized Mrs. Geib for her outstanding work as Chairperson for the <br />past two years. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) The city will celebrate Memorial Day with a flag <br />raising ceremony at City Hall by the VFW at 8 a.m., memorials at Coe Cemetery and <br />Butternut Ridge Cemetery, and a ceremony at North OLnsted Park at 10 a.m. <br />2) Today the city was unofficially notified by the Cuyahoga County Department of <br />Development that we will receive $150,000 this year and $150,000 next year for <br />the purchase of land and the construction of senior housing. <br />3) Capt. Dick Smith of the Fire Department has retired. On May 26, new captain <br />Ed Bak and new lieutenant Jeff Hohenfeld will be sworn in. We will soon be <br />hiring a new fireman/paramedic. <br />4) In honor of Senior Citizens Day, the Senior Center will be frosting a senior <br />volunteer recognitionz luncheon at noon tomorrow. Individuals to be honored for <br />more than 250 hours of volunteer services are Kathleen Grimes, Dorothy Hatton, <br />and Helen Schneider. <br />2 <br />
