The development is located immediately North
of Lorain Road and West of the proposed Crocker/Stearns Road
extension. •An additional 4 homes are planned and/or currently
under construction in the development.
The Association met on February 5, and again on February 12, 1992,
to discuss member concerns related to the proposed Crocker/Stearns
Road extension project. North Olmsted Director of Public Service
Ralph Bohlman and Ward 3 Councilman George Nashar were present and
addressed the participants at the February 12th meeting.
The Crocker/Stearns Road extension project, upon completion, will
be the onl four (4) lane North/South road in`North Olmsted. Great
care must be taken to minimize the effects of this road and the
significant increase in traffic on the surrounding neighborhoods.
Accordingly, the Association presents the following preliminary
requests and recommendations:
1. DELETION OF WEST SIDEWALK AND .BIKE PATH
The Association requests and recommends that the proposed
sidewalk and bike path on the west side of the Road be deleted
from the project plans.
A sidewalk and bike path immediately adjacent to a four (4)
7 ane road poses a si gni f i cant hazard to safety and welfare of
area residents, in particular, the children of the community.
Further, the sidewalk and bike path will serve as an
attractive nuisance for unwanted pedestrians andlor bike
traffic that would be in very close proximity to the back of
many of the Association's homes.
