Council Minutes of 3/3/92
Audience Partici tion (continued)
for protection o the is -ing incorporated. As to moving the road to the
east, the residents of Hampton may not want this to happen.
Mr. Tassey clarified that he meant it should be moved to a point beyond Hampton.
Mayor Boyle said if this move can be accommodated, it will be done. Because the
residents are concerned about future cam~ercial development in this area, the Clerk
is asked to send the verbatim mutates to the Planning Commission Chairperson who
should share them with the County Platming Ccxi~nisson. With regard to the issue of
landlocked "slivers" of land, the Mayor agreed it would be a good idea to deed this
back to the homeowners. This type of thing has been done in the past; he
especially liked the idea of the deed restriction. Mayor Boyle thanked the
residents for coming and addressing the Council and Administration.
Mayor Boyle clarified that the City Engineer would send the verbatim minutes of Mr.
Tassey's remarks to the County Engineer's office.
Donald Packey, 5266 Hampton Drive, spoke on behalf of the West Park/Forest Ridge
Civic Association on the Crocker-Stearns extension. This group would like to go on
record as supporting the Pheasant Walk/Quail Run Civic Association. The two
associations have been working together and are in mautual agreement on the issues
that have been discussed this evening. Also, the West Park/Forest Ridge
Association would like to go on record with regard to a number of the Stearns Road
issues of interest to them. Mr. Packey distributed copies of the association's
formal submittal to the Cuyahoga County Engineer's office. (The packet will be
included as part of the official journal minutes) Mr. Packey called special
attention to recommendation No. 3 which calls for-the elimination of sidewalks on
the east side of the road. The association is continuing to study and learn about
this project; on Monday, February 24, the residents spent five hours on a walk-
through with Chuck Thomas of the County Engineer's office. They have met with the
City Engineer's office, are attending Council and Planning Commission meetings, and
have consulted with a landscape architect who has done the mounding on the north
Crocker-Bassett Road. They will continue to communicate with Council, Mayor Boyle,
and the P1Rr,n-ing Commission as to concerns and recommendations.
Mayor Boyle asked that Mr. Packey's verbatim remarks also be sent to the City
Engineer arxi the Chairman of the Planning Commission.
LEGISLATION
Resolution No. 92-7 introduced by Mr. Lind was given its third reading. A
resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for
50,000 gallons of sodium alumixtate for use by the North Olmsted Wastewater Treat-
ment Facilities Plant, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Lind moved for adoption;
second by Mr. Nashar; passed unanimously.
Ordinance No. 92-13 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its second reading as
amended. An ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and expenditures
for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1992, as amended.
6
-Y0.:MO!K~.. . .. -...~ .FI - .. .
