.~;.. <br />Council Minutes of 11-16-2010 <br />,µ <br />• Respondent's brief is due Thursday, November 18, 2010 in the matter of Randall <br />Thorne vs. North Olmsted BZA in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. <br />A settlement conference is scheduled for November 24, 2010. <br />• Reopener negotiations began with a number of unions on November 15, 2010. <br />• The finishing touches have been put on the Clearwireless LLC lease with the City <br />of North Olmsted. The city will receive $1,200 per month in compensation from <br />that lease. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• The Finance Directors of the Rocky River Municipal Court District met <br />November 4, 2010 for asix-month review. <br />• She has extended an offer of employment and it was accepted for the Assistant <br />Director of Finance position. She will be starting the first full week of December. <br />• They completed the quarterly closing and have sent the revenue and expense <br />summary detail to Council, Administration and bargaining representatives. <br />Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met on Thursday, November 9, 2010 at 8:10 p.m. Present were <br />Committee members Barker, Jones and Kearney; Council members Mahoney, Orlowski <br />and Williamson; Council President Limpert; Director of Finance Copfer and Director of <br />Safety/Service Ritenauer. <br />• Ordinance 2010-139 is an Ordinance to make expenses and other expenditures for <br />the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2010. This is a <br />transfer Ordinance to move money to cover costs. The committee voted 3-0 for <br />approval of Ordinance 2010-139. <br />Councilman Barker made a motion to amend Ordinance 2010-139. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilwoman Jones and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2010-139 <br />amended. <br />• Resolution 2010-137 is a Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of 5,000 tons of stone for various Service <br />Department needs throughout the city as detailed in the specifications on file, <br />further authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best <br />bidder to purchase said stone, after Board of Control approval, and declaring an <br />emergency. The Director of Safety/Service requested adding the purchase of <br />5,000 tons of asphalt to the Resolution. The Law Dept. created a separate <br />Resolution for the purchase of asphalt -Resolution 2010-149 which is on the <br />agenda for this evening. <br />Councilwoman Jones, Chairwoman of the Building, Zoning and Development <br />Committee: <br />3 <br />
