Council Minutes of 11-16-2010 <br />The BZD Committee met on Tuesday, November 8, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Jones, Barker and Mahoney; Council members Kearney, Orlowski <br />and Williamson; Director of Law Gareau and Assistant Director of Law O'Malley. <br />• Suburban Auto Conditional Use Permit -The committee voted 3-0 to hold this <br />issue in committee. <br />• Ordinance 2010-100 an Ordinance amending Section 1119.02 of the Zoning Code <br />of the City of North Olmsted to require as a prerequisite to issuance of certificate <br />of occupancy payment of or agreement to make payments on real property taxes, <br />as amended. This was the second committee meeting regarding this Ordinance. <br />Two amendments were offered to add more flexibility. Much discussion <br />surrounded the idea that North Olmsted representatives really need to bring these <br />issue to the County. The committee voted 3-0 to approve the amendments, and it <br />was recommended for approval. <br />Councilwoman Jones made a motion to amend Ordinance 2010-100. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2010-100 <br />amended. <br />Councilman Mahoney, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee: <br />The Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee met Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 8:20 <br />p.m. Present were committee members Mahoney, Kearney and Williamson; Council <br />President Limpert; Council members Barker, Orlowski and Jones; and the Director of <br />Safety/Service Ritenauer. <br />• Resolution 2010-139 is a Resolution authorizing and directing the Director of <br />Public Safety to make application on behalf of the City of North Olmsted for <br />participation in, and grant funding for, the 2011 Third Grade Safety Belt Program; <br />and further authorizing the Mayor to accept the grant if awarded and to execute a <br />contract with the State of Ohio Department of Public Safety, and declaring an <br />emergency. This would allow 30-minute classroom presentations conducted by <br />uniformed police officers encouraging children to use safety belts. The <br />committee voted 3-0 for approval. <br />Councilman Brossard took a moment of personal privilege to thank his Council <br />colleagues, Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, and the Director of Safety/Service <br />Ritenauer for their thoughts and condolences in the passing of his brother-in-law, Terry <br />McChrystal. <br />Councilwoman Jones announced that the Northeast Ohio City Council Association is <br />going to be sponsoring speakers on the State of Ohio budget for next year.
