~"`"; ~,si Council Minutes of 04-06-2010 • First item on the agenda was the Mayor's appointment of Chase Ritenauer for the position of Public Safety Director. Mr. Ritenauer comes from the City of Lorain where he served as Deputy Safety and Service Director. He has an impeccable record of public service and higher education. He has vast experience in local government and dealing with staff at various levels. He will be a fine addition to the city as the newly appointed Director of Public Safety. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to approve the appointment of Chase Ritenauer to the position of Public Safety Director. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Jones and passed unanimously. Appointment of Chase Ritenauer to the position of Public Safety Director approved. • The next appointment by the Mayor was Devin Anderson to the Fair Housing Review Board. Mr. Anderson presently works for NASA and has been a volunteer in the community for several years. He is currently a volunteer coach with the local soccer organization. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to recommend the approval of the appointment of Devin Anderson to the Fair Housing Review Board. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and the Committee voted 3-0 to recommend the approval of Devin Anderson. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to approve the appointment of Devin Anderson to the Fair Housing Review Board for the term January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2012. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. Appointment of Devin Anderson to the Fair Housing Review Board for the term January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 approved. • The Committee was also presented with the reappointment of George Diamantis to the Fair Housing Review Board. Mr. Diamantis has been an active community volunteer in North Olmsted, and has served on this Board for several years. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to approve the reappointment of George Diamantis to the Fair Housing Review Board for the term January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2012. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Jones and passed unanimously. Appointment of George Diamantis to the Fair Housing Review Board for the term January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2012 approved. Chase Ritenauer stood and was recognized by City Council. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION Jeff Peepers, 6389 McKenzie reminded everyone that the North Olmsted Community Council Citizen of the Year Dinner is Apri122, 2010. Tickets are $18, and the event will be held at the Radisson. He asked Council and the Mayor to review the brush policy because he thinks twice a year is inadequate, especially for homeowners with larger lots and more trees or after a large storm.
