Assistant Law Director O'Malley: • No report from the Law Department. Finance Director Copfer: • She also participated in the AFSCME Clerical/Tech mediation and the Healthcare Committee. • She had an hour and a half phone conference with the fire district's financial consultants. They had a lot of follow-up questions, and there will be more because there's only a first draft available. • The city received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 2008 comprehensive annual financial report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the city's government and management, and shows that the city is interested and concerned about proper financial reporting to taxpayers and investors. This is given by the Government Finance Officers Association. Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Finance Committee: • Codified Ordinances can now be viewed online. There is a link on the city's website, which takes you to www.conway~reene.com/northolmsted.htm. On behalf of all of Council, he thanked the Clerk of Council, Marie Gallo, for pursuing this matter. • He announced that Finance Committee meetings are scheduled for March 4, March 6, and March 9 to discuss the 2010 budget. Revenue stream, budgetary assumptions, debt service, Finance Department and Council will be discussed on March 4. Various departments will be discussed on March 6, and the Law Department will be discussed on March 9 as well as a budget follow-up of Ordinance 2010-24. • Councilman Baker requested a moment of personal privilege. He commended the Building Department and Law Department for their due diligence regarding property maintenance issues. He cited an example of how a property maintenance issue was resolved with a foreclosed home across the street from him.
