Council Minutes of 04-OS-2011 <br /> <br />• Energy auditors with URS Corporation were on site today to begin <br />comprehensive inspections of all city buildings related to the Municipal Energy <br />Grant Project. <br />• A public meeting to solicit community input regadding the City Hall parking lot <br />stormwater project will be held in conjunction with the Planning and Design <br />Commission meeting of April 13, 2011. <br />• Operation Medicine Cabinet will be held Saturday, Apri130, 2011. Old <br />prescription medications can be dropped off at the police station on that date for <br />safe disposal. <br />• With the improving weather, there has been a slight increase in theft from autos. <br />Residents are reminded to lock their cars and remove valuables. <br />• Interviews are being held for Fleet Mechanic Helper position, and applications are <br />being accepted for part-time seasonal help in forestry, streets and fleet. <br />Applications should be sent to the Dept. of Human Resources for consideration. <br />• Residents will be receiving a post card in a few weeks indicating brush pick-up <br />dates for each ward. <br />• Brian Blum has been hired as the new Assistant Superintendent at the WWTP. <br />His first day of work was today. <br />• On March 21, 2011, Safety/Service Director Ritenauer and Tim Conway visited <br />the Service Depaztment in Brecksville to discuss their in-house leaf pick-up <br />procedures and the corresponding equipment needs. The visit was very <br />informative and gave much insight as North Olmsted investigates the possibilities <br />of handling leaf pick-up in-house. <br />• The Western Reserve Agency on Aging is sponsoring its annual Spring Senior <br />Wellness and Independence Expo at Great Northern Mall on Wednesday, April <br />27, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free health screenings, presentations, <br />entertainment and give-aways will be available. Information is available at the <br />Senior Center for anyone interested. <br />• Health care costs for the 1 S` quarter of 2011 are down approximately $ 44,000 as <br />compazed to the first quarter of 2010. <br />• Springvale is gearing up for the 2011 golf season. Leagues are scheduled to begin <br />play on April 18, 2011. We are in the process of re-booking our golf outings from <br />2010 for this season. <br />• Springvale also began construction of a pump house building and is nearing <br />completion of the project. The pazking lot project and the renovation to the <br />course are also expected to be completed this season. <br />• There aze still three Friday's left to enjoy the Fish Fry at Springvale. So far, the <br />local non-profits who have assisted with this event are NO Boosters, After Prom, <br />Relay for Life and the Ice/Edges/Hockey Associations. The remaining groups <br />include Deerfield Homeowner's Association, NO Kiwanis and the MS Society. <br />• Several members of city administration will be attending a seminaz next week <br />regarding Senate Bi115 and the potential changes this Bill will bring to our current <br />system. <br />2 <br />
