~.
Council Minutes of 03-01-2011
government bodies to act on the behalf of the welfaze of the residents of North Olmsted,
perhaps we can urge the federal government to step up development of domestic fossil
fuels before we pay $10 a gallon due to unrest in other areas. He thinks many, if not
every North Olmsted citizen would be in favor of that -lower, moderate gas costs.
Jeff Sturgeon, 3092 W. 231 asked about the status of the legislation allowing dogs in the
parks, and if it is going to be reviewed. Mayor Kennedy said if the Chairperson of the
committee wants to review it, he can make that request of him or her. Sturgeon said that
some of the tree lawns have a lot of gazbage and he hopes the gazbage company has been
alerted. He commended the Service Dept. on their work during the storm. He would like
to see North Olmsted talk to other cities regarding ditches and ways to get rid of storm
water. He noticed that some other cities were actually blocking some of the storm sewer
lines to slow down the water going into the storm sewer. It seems like a good idea.
Binggeli said he knows some of the neighboring cities are placing sandbags next to the
catch basins to slow the water down. North Olmsted has hydra brakes in the Deerfield
area in the catch basins to slow down the drainage. The trouble with sandbags is they
don't last long there with the snow plows. Mayor Kennedy said the mayors meet once a
month, and this issue is something that has been discussed and will continue to be
discussed.
LEGISLATION
Ordinance 2011-7 introduced by Councilman Mahoney on behalf of Council members
Williamson and Kearney was given its third reading.
