The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. <br />Paul Ruggles appointed to the Recreation Commission for the term January 1, 2011 <br />through December 31, 2011. <br />Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to suspend the rule requiring a formal <br />interview process for Council's appointment to the Planning and Design Commission as <br />the appointee is Councilman Mark Mahoney. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Kearney. Roll Call: Williamson, yes; Kearney, yes; Orlowski, yes; Mahoney, abstain; <br />Barker, yes; Brossard, yes. Rules suspended 5-0. Councilman Mark <br />Mahoney appointed to the Planning and Design Commission 5-0. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />George Nashar, 6710 Louann Drive commended former Councilwoman Nicole Dailey <br />Jones' service to the City as the Ward III representative, and he wished her the very best <br />at her new job with Cuyahoga County. <br />Sid King, 27149 Limpert Lane requested that Council research the possibility of painting <br />a turn lane/line at the westbound I-480 ramp. Mayor Kennedy said he and Safety/Service <br />Director Ritenauer will review this. He said on Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. a snow <br />plow driver was plowing a driveway at the Pine School and the gentleman did not slow <br />down to allow for pedestrian traffic to move out of the way. Mayor Kennedy <br />recommended calling the school as the school system handles plowing of their schools. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance 2011-1 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance creating new Section 111.10 of the Administrative Code of the City of North <br />Olmsted entitled, "Public Utility Contracts" in order to establish a contracting procedure <br />to be used in securing contracts for the providing of public utility services to municipal <br />buildings and fixtures, as amended. Councilman Barker moved for adoption. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Ordinance <br />2011-1 adopted. <br />5 <br />
