Council Minutes of OS-07-2013 declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review. Resolution 2013-53 adopted 7-0. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS Councilman Kearney scheduled a Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee meeting for Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Resolution 2013-44. The Mayor or his designee is asked to attend. Councilman Brossard scheduled a Streets & Transportation Committee meeting for Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 7:15 p.m. to discuss Ordinance 2013-46. The Planning/Development Director is asked to attend. Councilman Kearney scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 7:25 p.m. to discuss Ordinances 2013-50. The Planning/Development Director is asked to attend. Councilwoman Williamson scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee meeting for Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 7:50 p.m. to discuss Resolution 2013-48 and Ordinance 2013-49. The Mayor or his designee is asked to attend. 4 Director of Law Gareau explained the procedure of filling Councilman Mahoney's vacancy. Mahoney's resignation is effective under Article IV Section 5 of the Charter at a time when there is only a 30 day window of time for Council to act to fill that vacancy. If the appointee wishes to keep the at-Large position, that person must stand for election at the end of the year.
