She suggested that <br />the city have legislation opposing this as well. <br />Councilman Orlowski, Chairman of the Intra-Governmental Relations Committee: <br />He had no report this evening. He made a motion to nominate Nicole Dailey Jones as <br />Council liaison to fulfill the remaining term on the Ethics Commission and the North <br />Olmsted Commission on Paratransit (NOCOP) for the unexpired terms through <br />December 31, 2013. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and <br />passed unanimously. Nicole Dailey Jones appointed to the Ethics Commission and <br />NOCOP 6-0. <br />Councilman Kearney, Chairman of the Recreation Committee: <br />The Recreation Committee met Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 7:10 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Kearney and Orlowski; Council President Jones; Council members <br />Barker, Schumann and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau and <br />Planning/Development Director Wenger. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2013-29 which is a Resolution authorizing and <br />directing the Director of Planning and Development to make application on behalf <br />of the City of North Olmsted for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br />Funds for the fiscal year 2013 for the Senior Center Roof Replacement Project; <br />further authorizing the Mayor to accept the grant if awarded and to execute a <br />contract with Cuyahoga County, and declaring an emergency. <br />Planning/Development Director Wenger explained to the committee the short <br />time frame that is available to apply for these grant funds, and the city should <br />apply for this grant to replace the roof at the Senior Center. The grant is up to <br />$150,000. The committee voted 2-0 to recommend approval of Resolution 2013- <br />29 with suspension. <br />Councilman Orlowski, Vice-Chairman of the Streets& Transportation Committee: <br />The Streets& Transportation Committee met Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 7:20 p.m. <br />Present were committee members Orlowski and Williamson; Council President Jones; <br />Council members Kearney and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau, <br />Finance Director Copfer, Planning/Development Director Wenger and guests. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2013-31 which is a Resolution authorizing the Director <br />of Planning and Development to make application to the Ohio Department of <br />Transportation and the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency, as <br />necessary, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, for funding for safety <br />improvements to Great Northern Boulevard; further authorizing matching funds, <br />as necessary, further authorizing the Mayor to accept funding if awarded and to <br />execute contracts, as necessary, and declaring an emergency. <br />Planning/Development Director Wenger spoke on the legislation.
