Council Minutes of 03-19-2013 ,,, month on this issue. The Ohio Municipal League and Ohio United are trying to stop the state takeover of the city's municipal tax collection. She suggested that the city have legislation opposing this as well. Councilman Orlowski, Chairman of the Intra-Governmental Relations Committee: He had no report this evening. He made a motion to nominate Nicole Dailey Jones as Council liaison to fulfill the remaining term on the Ethics Commission and the North Olmsted Commission on Paratransit (NOCOP) for the unexpired terms through December 31, 2013. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Nicole Dailey Jones appointed to the Ethics Commission and NOCOP 6-0. Councilman Kearney, Chairman of the Recreation Committee: The Recreation Committee met Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 7:10 p.m. Present were committee members Kearney and Orlowski; Council President Jones; Council members Barker, Schumann and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau and Planning/Development Director Wenger. • Discussed was Resolution 2013-29 which is a Resolution authorizing and directing the Director of Planning and Development to make application on behalf of the City of North Olmsted for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds for the fiscal year 2013 for the Senior Center Roof Replacement Project; further authorizing the Mayor to accept the grant if awarded and to execute a contract with Cuyahoga County, and declaring an emergency. Planning/Development Director Wenger explained to the committee the short time frame that is available to apply for these grant funds, and the city should apply for this grant to replace the roof at the Senior Center. The grant is up to $150,000. The committee voted 2-0 to recommend approval of Resolution 2013- 29 with suspension. Councilman Orlowski, Vice-Chairman of the Streets& Transportation Committee: The Streets& Transportation Committee met Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 7:20 p.m. Present were committee members Orlowski and Williamson; Council President Jones; Council members Kearney and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Planning/Development Director Wenger and guests. • Discussed was Resolution 2013-31 which is a Resolution authorizing the Director of Planning and Development to make application to the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency, as necessary, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, for funding for safety improvements to Great Northern Boulevard; further authorizing matching funds, as necessary, further authorizing the Mayor to accept funding if awarded and to execute contracts, as necessary, and declaring an emergency.
