Council Minutes of 12-18-2012 ,,~,,. Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane commended Dewey Limpert for his public service ~, and service to the United States. Lambert said personally, he finds Limpert very honorable and a decent person even though they do not agree politically on a number of things. He wished Council President Limpert well in his retirement. He wished him many years of success. Lambert said there have been several incidents on and near his street - a car accident that took down a pole, a garbage truck took down wiring that goes across the street and a water break. In each case he contacted Safety/Service Director Thomas' office, and he always uses five words: "I' 11 take care of it" -and he always does. This is a success on the Mayor's part. The various people Mayor Kennedy has brought on in key positions have served him very well, and Director Thomas is one of them. He wished everyone a Happy New Year. Don Pangrac, 23470 Sharon Drive noted that there are 11 street lights that are out on Clague Road. He asked what the problem is in getting the lights replaced/functioning. Mayor Kennedy said these lights were forwarded to CEI and he is not sure what the hold up it. Perhaps it was Superstorm Sandy. LEGISLATION Ordinance 2012-117 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reeding. An Ordinance adopting new Chapter 1729 of the Fire Prevention Code entitled "Westshore Regional Community Emergency Response Team (WSC)". Councilman Mahoney moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2012-117 adopted. Resolution 2012-122 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to implement adesign/build selection process for the award of a contract for the design, installation and service of fire and security alarm systems at Springvale Golf Course and Ballroom, and authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the successful applicant, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Kearney moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Resolution 2012-122 adopted. Ordinance 2012-123 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. An Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2012, and declaring an emergency, as amended. Councilman Schumann made a motion to suspend the rule requiring three readings. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Councilman Schuman moved for adoption. Councilman Mahoney commented, the situation I find myself in is a that this Ordinance contains proposals for the funding of materials and supplies for the start-up of the Mayor's Court along with some other things with regards to the Mayor's Court. I have indicated by vigorous opposition to the Mayor's Court as a whole and find myself in a little bit of a predicament here because this transfer ordinance does supply funds and material and equipment for Mayor's Court. However, this Ordinance also contains vastly needed transfer of funds, 6 ~. ~ ...: x
