A full report <br />will be given at the next Council meeting. <br />Councilman Mahoney, Chairman of the Building, Zoning & Development Committee: <br />The BZD Committee met Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Mahoney, Kearney and Barker; Council President Limpert; Council <br />members Brossard, Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson; and Planning Development <br />Director Wenger. <br />• Discussed was CMS12-10 Mercedes Benz Certified Pre-Owned Center located at <br />28595 Lorain Road -This proposal consists of facade renovations to the existing <br />building. The current Saab building will be converted to a Mercedes Benz <br />certified pre-owned center while continuing service to Saab vehicles and the new <br />Sprinter dealership. The Saab renovation involves a canopy element and will <br />encroach into the required front setback. This requires a variance which was <br />granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals. Signage variances were also granted for <br />wall signs, but a second ground sign variance was denied by the BZA. The <br />Planning and Design Commission voted unanimously to approve this project. <br />The committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of CMS12-10 Mercedes Benz <br />located at 28595 Lorain Road. <br />;; Councilman Mahoney made a motion to approve CMS 12-10 Mercedes Benz Certified <br />Pre-Owned Center located at 28595 Lorain Road. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. CMS 12-10 Mercedes Benz Certified Pre- <br />owned Center approved. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane said that the audience was asked to join Council in <br />the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance earlier this evening. He suggested that the <br />audience not be asked to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, but to stand and Pledge <br />Allegiance to the flag. <br />Carl Schanz, 6140 W. 130`n Street, Brook Park said he is a 28-year veteran of the North <br />Olmsted Fire Dept. and member of North Olmsted Firefighters Local 1267. He <br />announced that record breaking amount of $11,020.00 was raised at the Firefighters' 25tH <br />annual muscular dystrophy benefit car show known as Cruise-In 2012. The North <br />Olmsted firefighters raised $600.00 at the 2°d annual Pancake Breakfast and photos with <br />Santa and the Grinch. He presented letters of recommendation to the Mayor and <br />requested that they be placed in the firefighters' personnel files. He presented two <br />appreciation plaques for the Police Dept. and Service Dept. to Safety/Service Director <br />Thomas. He introduced Jackie Becker and presented her with the donation checks for the <br />Muscular Dystrophy Association from the benefits they had. Since the car show benefit <br />4 <br /> <br />
