Council Minutes of 03-20-2012 <br />Councilman Schumann, Chairman of the Environmental Control Committee: <br />The Environmental Control Committee met Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 7:45 p.m. <br />Present were committee members Schumann and Barker; Council President Limpert; <br />Council members Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy and <br />Planning Director Wenger. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2012-24 which is A Resolution authorizing and <br />directing the Director of Planning and Development to make application on behalf <br />of the City of North Olmsted for Surface Water Improvement Fund ("SWIF") <br />grant money; further authorizing the Mayor to accept the grant if awarded and to <br />execute a contract with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, and declaring <br />an emergency. The grant application is for nearly $200,000 with the city's cost <br />being an additional $60,000 which would be used to enlarge and improve the <br />existing parking lot on the north end of the North Olmsted Park by the volleyball <br />courts. The committee voted 2-0 to recommend approval of Resolution 2012-24 <br />with suspension. The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:40 p.m. <br />Councilman Mahoney, Chairman of the Building, Zoning & Development Committee: <br />The BZD Committee met Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Present were committee <br />„~~, members Mahoney and Kearney; Council President Limpert; Council members Brossard, <br />Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy and Planning Director Wenger. <br />~•; <br />Discussed was CMSI 1-18 Get Go located at the corner of Lorain Road and Dover <br />Center Road -This proposal consists of demolishing the former Rally's site and <br />constructing a new 3,600 sq. ft. building which would house the Get Go <br />convenient store and other site improvements. The committee voted 2-0 to <br />recommend approval of CMS11-18 Get Go. <br />Councilman Mahoney made a motion to approve CMS 11-18 Get Go located at the corner <br />of Lorain and Dover Center subject to the recommendations of the Planning and Design <br />Commission. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed <br />unanimously. CMS11-18 Get Go approved. <br />Councilman Orlowski, Vice Chairman of the Streets & Transportation Committee: <br />The Streets & Transportation Committee met Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 7:05 p.m. <br />Present were committee members Orlowski and Williamson; Council President Limpert; <br />Council members Barker, Kearney, Mahoney and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Planning <br />Director Wenger and guests. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2012-23 which is a Resolution authorizing and <br />.~:- directing the Director of Planning and Development to make application on behalf <br />of the City of North Olmsted for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br /> <br />
