Council Minutes of 03-20-2012 <br />~~ funds for the fiscal year 2012 for the Country Club Boulevard Streetscape and <br />.~~„ Safety Enhancements Project, Phase II; further authorizing the use of city funds as <br />the local match; further authorizing the Mayor to accept the grant if awarded and <br />to execute a contract with Cuyahoga County, and declaring an emergency. The <br />Citizens Advisory Committee recommended the city apply for a Community <br />Development Block Grant to continue the rehabilitation of Country Club <br />Boulevard Streetscape and Safety Enhancement from Victoria Lane to the traffic <br />light at the entrance of Dillard's Department Store. Matching city funds are <br />required. One requirement of this grant is that the project benefits the entire <br />community. This project meets that requirement. This is Phase II of a three- <br />phase program. Phase II is a $650,000 project with a possible $150,000 grant. I <br />agree that Ward 4 brings in more tax dollars than any other ward, and it justifies <br />this expenditure. In fact, more road repair and resurfacing work should be going <br />on in Ward 4. The committee voted 2-0 to recommend approval of Resolution <br />2012-23 with suspension. The meeting was adjourned at 7:18 p.m. <br />Councilman Orlowski, Chairman of the Intra-Governmental Relations Committee: <br />The Intra-Governmental Relations Committee met Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. <br />Present were committee members Orlowski, Williamson and Mahoney; Council <br />President Limpert; Council members Barker, Kearney and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, <br />µ Planning Director Wenger and guests. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2012-22 which is a Resolution proclaiming April as <br />Fair Housing Month in North Olmsted, Ohio. This is an annual Resolution and is <br />one governmental entity working with another. The city receives assistance from <br />the federal government and the city promotes all aspects of fair housing -that all <br />citizens of the United States have the right to enjoy access to housing within any <br />community. The committee voted 3-0 for the addition of the emergency clause <br />and recommended approval of Resolution 2012-22 with suspension. The meeting <br />was adjourned at 7:03 p.m. <br />Councilman Orlowski made a motion to amend Resolution 2012-22 to include an <br />emergency clause as the legislation is time sensitive and to allow the legislation to be in <br />effect for April 2012. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed <br />unanimously. Resolution 2012-22 amended. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Jennifer Rudolph, 3329 Walter Road asked Copfer if there were any plans to notify the <br />residents that their water bills may have been less, and they might get a larger bill in <br />May? Copfer said there was an article in the WestLife, and there will be a notice on the <br />existing bill. Something may be put on North Olmsted's website. She inquired about the <br />lobbyist that the city hired that she saw in the March 7 Council meeting minutes.
