Council Minutes of 03-20-2012 <br />~. Mayor, following approval of the Boazd of Control, to contract for the same with the <br />M lowest and best bidder, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Barker made a motion <br />to suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously. Councilman Bazker <br />moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed <br />unanimously. Resolution 2012-26 adopted. <br />Resolution 2012-27 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the awazd <br />of a contract to provide new pavement markings on various streets at various locations in <br />the city, as detailed in the specifications on file in the Service Department, and <br />authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Boazd of Control, to contract for the <br />same with the lowest and best bidder, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Bazker <br />made a motion to suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal committee <br />review. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the awazd <br />of a contract to provide asphalt resurfacing and related repairs upon city streets, as <br />detailed in the specifications on file with the Engineer, and authorizing the Mayor, <br />following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the lowest and <br />best bidder, and declaring an emergency. Resolution 2012-28 adopted. <br />Resolution 2012-29 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to apply for the Department of Justice 2012 "COPS" <br />Grant award in the total amount of up to two hundred fifty thousand dollars($250,000.00) <br />over three years in order to provide 75% reimbursement for wages and benefits for up to <br />two police officers and, if granted, further authorizing the Mayor to enter into any <br />agreements with the appropriate federal or state agencies to accept funding on behalf of <br />the city, and declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to <br />suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. Councilwoman Williamson <br />moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed <br />unanimously. Resolution 2012-29 adopted. <br />Resolution 2012-30 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution dispensing with the RFP process and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a one <br />year contract with MB3 Consulting LLC for the purpose of providing economic <br />development consulting services to the city, and declaring an emergency. <br />6 <br /> <br />
