Council Minutes of 02-07-2012 <br />• Easements were obtained for the collections system work on Beech Lane. <br />• He took a tour of the Police Station with his son's Cub Scout group. The Police <br />Dept. did a fine job and went out of their way to make the parents and boys feel <br />welcome and comfortable. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• The year-end financial were closed. They are conducting the review on it now to <br />ensure accuracy. The auditors have been at City Hall for the last two weeks for <br />preliminary fieldwork. <br />• Finance Committee meetings have been scheduled on February 18 and February <br />25 to review the 2012 budget. <br />• The software vendor representative for MUNIS met with the Directors to review <br />their goals regarding increased efficiency and technology. They are scheduling <br />demonstrations of particular modules that will meet these goals. <br />Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Barker, Schumann and Kearney; Council President Limpert; Council <br />members Brossard, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson; Safety/Service <br />Director Thomas. <br />,, • Discussed was Resolution 2012-6 which is a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to <br />purchase a "Vactor Model 2115" Combination Sewer Vacuum & High Pressure <br />Rodder Truck and equipment, at a final cost of $277,500.00, all through the State <br />purchase program; and further authorizing the Mayor to execute all documents <br />necessary to effectuate such purchase, and declaring an emergency. The <br />committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of Resolution 2012-6 with <br />suspension. <br />Councilman Barker took a moment of personal privilege to announce that the annual <br />dinner for the Northeast Ohio City Council Association (NOCCA) is scheduled for <br />Thursday, February 16, 2012 to swear in the new Board Members. The discussion will <br />be working together to strengthen our regions. <br />Councilman Orlowski, former Chairman of the Environmental Control Committee: <br />The Environmental Control Committee met Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 7:15 p.m. <br />Present were committee members Orlowski, Barker and Brossard; Council President <br />Limpert; Council members Kearney, Mahoney, Schumann and Williamson; Mayor <br />Kennedy, Law Director Gareau and guests. <br />• Discussed was Ordinance 2012-5 which is an Ordinance amending and re- <br />establishing Chapter 941 of the Streets, Utilities and Public Services Code entitled <br />~, <br />3 <br /> <br />
