Council Minutes of 01-17-2012 <br />Mahoney, yes; Orlowski, no; Barker, yes; Williamson, yes; Brossard, yes. Standing <br />committees approved 5-l. <br />Councilman Barker made a motion to accept Councilman Brossard as the Council <br />President Pro-tem. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed <br />unanimously. Councilman Brossard approved as Council President Pro-tem for year <br />2012. <br />Councilman Mahoney made a motion to accept nominations of Council members to <br />boards and commissions. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and <br />passed unanimously. Council nominations to boards and commissions approved. <br />Councilman Barker made a motion to adopt the Rules of Council for 2012. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. Rules of Council <br />adopted. <br />Councilman Mahoney provided a Planning and Development summary for the year 2011. <br />There was a total of $4$ million dollars in commercial building projects/improvements in <br />the year 2011, a 207% increase from 2010. Councilman Mahoney publicly recognized <br />Planning and Development Director Wenger for her hard work and dedication throughout <br />her career in North Olmsted. <br />Councilwoman Williamson, Vice Chairwoman of the Intra-Governmental Relations <br />Committee: <br />The Intra-Governmental Relations Committee met Tuesday, January 12, 2012 at 6:45 <br />p.m. Present were all members of Council and Mayor Kennedy. <br />• The committee met to interview Joseph Boncek for an appointment to the Board <br />of Building Code Appeals for the term January 1, 2012 through December 31, <br />2016. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend the appointment to Joseph Boncek <br />to the Board of Building Code Appeals. <br />Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to approve the appointment of Joseph Boncek <br />to the Board of Building Code Appeals for the term January 1, 2012 through December <br />31, 2016. The motion was seconded by Councilman Orlowski and passed unanimously. <br />Joseph Boncek appointed to the Board of Building Code Appeals. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Jeff Sturgeon, 3092 W. 231 asked who will be designing the walkway through the park, <br />and if there will be any public input. Mayor Kennedy said they have to get the grant first <br />and then there will be meetings. Sturgeon said the purchase of the sewer equipment <br />shows commitment on the city's part to help remedy sewer problems. Sturgeon asked for <br />clarification on the legislation regarding new standards for refuse collection. Mayor <br />3 <br />
