The building dept. is <br />preparing a report regarding this. <br />• The city has been named as a defendant in the matter of Bank of New York Mellon <br />vs. Nicole Scholl a foreclosure action for 4448 Columbia Road. <br />• Carole Heyward met with HUD last week to discuss the Fair Housing Review <br />Board. <br />• There will be a NOCOP meeting scheduled for next week regarding the status of <br />matters and the future direction of the commission. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• No report. <br />Councilman Smith, Chairman of the Building, Zoning and Development Committee: <br />The BZD Committee met Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 7:03 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Smith, Kearney and Barker; Council members Orlowski and <br />Schumann; Planning/Development Director Wenger, Mayor Kennedy and guests. <br />• Discussed was a parking extension at Columbia Road Baptist Church located at <br />4116 Columbia Road. Director Wenger explained that this is a simple expansion <br />plan with the necessary conditional use permit. A few questions were raised <br />regarding additional lighting and adjacent properties, and the questions were <br />answered to everyone's satisfaction. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend <br />approval of the development plan and conditional use permit. <br />'`~"` Councilman Smith made a motion to approve the Columbia Road Baptist Church parking <br />expansion development plan. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and <br />passed unanimously. Columbia Road Baptist Church parking expansion approved 6-0. <br />Councilman Smith made a motion to approve the conditional use permit for the above <br />matter. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. <br />The conditional use permit approved 6-0. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Al Richner, 4240 Lisa Lane is a member of the Landmarks Commission. He thanked <br />Council for considering the legislation for the Knight Biddulph House Landmark. He <br />said it was a great experience and he worked on the research. This house is an important <br />part of North Olmsted. It was built in 1860, and there is a fascinating history about the <br />people that built the house and the people that lived in it. Council President Jones <br />thanked Richner for his service to North Olmsted. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance 2013-79 introduced by Councilman Schumann was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance designating the Knight-Biddulph House, located at 4302 Porter Road, as an <br />~"'' official North Olmsted Landmark, as amended. Councilman Schumann moved for <br />adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. <br />2 <br />
