Council Minutes of 09-03-2013 '"~""` The Recreation Committee met Tuesday August 27, 2013 at 7:40 p.m. Present were "'~ committee members Kearney, Brossard and Orlowski; Council President Jones; Council members Barker, Schumann, Smith and Williamson; Planning/Development Director Wenger and Finance Director Copfer. • Discussed was Ordinance 2013-79 which is an Ordinance designating the Knight- Biddulph House, located at 4302 Porter Road, as an official North Olmsted Landmark, as amended. Wenger and Councilman Schumann gave a brief history of the house explaining that it was built prior to 1860 from sandstone from the property. It will be the second house from the Historic District to receive the landmark recognition if the Ordinance is approved. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of Ordinance 2013-79. Councilman Brossard, Chairman of the Streets & Transportation Committee: The Streets Committee met Tuesday August 27, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Present were committee members Brossard, Orlowski & Williamson; Council President Jones; Council members Barker, Kearney, Schumann and Smith; Finance Director Copfer, Safety/Service Director Thomas & Planning/Development Director Wenger. • Discussed was Resolution 2013-78 which is a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a second agreement with the Ohio Director of Transportation to upgrade certain barrier end terminals on state and national highway routes within the City of North Olmsted. The three barrier end terminals being upgraded have a tendency to actually increase the severity of any crash, sometimes causing vehicles to flip or overturn. So, this should alleviate a potentially dangerous situation. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of Resolution 201.3- 78 with suspension. Councilwoman Williamson, Chairwoman of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee: The Public Safety Committee met on Tuesday August 27, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. Present were committee members Williamson, Smith & Schumann; Council President Jones; Council members Barker, Brossard, Kearney and Orlowski; Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Planning/Development Director Wenger and guests. • Discussed was new liquor permit no. 9122675 for 24280 North Olmsted Liquor, LLC located at 24280 Lorain Road. Captain Cox reviewed the application and found no issues or concerns. The committee voted 3-0 to not object. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to not object to liquor permit no. 9122675 :for 24280 North Olmsted Liquor, LLC. The motion was seconded by Councilman Smith and passed unanimously. Liquor permit no. 9122675 24280 North Olmsted Liquor, LLC approved. • Discussed next was liquor permit no. 8679083 for Foo Sing Restaurant located at °`~' 25102 Brookpark Road, Suite 130. Captain Cox reviewed the application and ~'" found no issues or concerns. The committee voted 3-0 to not object. 4
