Council Minutes of 02-19-2013 AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane made a recommendation to Council that although it was nice to hear the Mayor's Proclamation to Duane Limpert, he feels it would be appropriate to read the Resolution honoring Duane Limpert into the record so the audience can hear what it says. Stephen Wolf, 27132 Butternut Ridge Road referenced the antenna Ordinance. He thinks it's a great idea. The radios on the high rise now are located next to an elevator room. There are huge motors in the elevator room that run the elevators. The carbon blocks on the motors disperse carbon into the air, which mixes with the hydraulic fluid that runs the elevators, gets all over the city's radio equipment. Also, you have to ask for the key to get access to get access to that room to do emergency repairs. Plus, after four hours the batteries go dead. There is always contention about where the equipment is and where it should go. By moving the equipment to City Hall, the city will have control of their power, antennas, etc. This is a great idea and an important thing to do. Mayor Kennedy thanked Wolf for his comments. He said there were two things he promised Law Director Gareau when he ran for Mayor: to get new lockers in the locker room at the Recreation Center which has been done and to get the city's radio communication off of the Westbury. Council President Jones referenced Lambert's comments. She asked the Clerk to attach ~` Resolution 2013-21 (Resolution honoring Duane Limpert) to the minutes of the Council ~"`~` meeting. LEGISLATION Ordinance 2013-12 introduced by Councilman Barker on behalf of himself and Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. An Ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the city of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2013, as amended. Councilman Barker made a motion to suspend the rule requiring three readings. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously. Councilman Barker moved for adoption. Ordinance 2013-13 introduced by Councilman Barker on behalf of himself and the entire city Council was given its second reading. An Ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for the elected officials of the City of North Olmsted for the term of office commencing January 1, 2014 and ending December 31, 2017 and declaring an emergency. Ordinance 2013-18 introduced by Council President Jones on behalf of herself and Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading.
