Council Minutes of 01-15-2013 <br />~` He doesn't see any reason why that policy wouldn't be applicable to the iPads. Lambert <br />said he appreciates that Gareau stated that publicly and made that clear that a policy <br />exists. Councilwoman Williamson also stated that Director Thomas did provide Council <br />with a sample policy for the use of iPads. <br />Pam Jankowski, Branch Manager of the North Olmsted Public Library, stated that the <br />library does have Wi-Fi at no charge. She reported that the library is hosting multiple <br />English as Second Language classes four times per week. The also host weekly <br />computer classes. The homework center just opened on Monday. They also have a <br />weekly job club that meets once a week at the library. <br />Nicole Dailey Jones, 30827 Windy Hollow Lane, expressed her thanks to the Council for <br />their vote of confidence today. She looks forward to working with everyone to continue <br />to improve the city that they Live in and love. She also thanked the gentlemen that <br />applied for the position of President of Council. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance 2012-132 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to request proposals for plumbing, heating, ventilation <br />and air conditioning preventative maintenance services for the City's Division of <br />Recreation; further authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval of the Board of Control, to <br />` ~ enter into an agreement with the contractor selected in the RFP process. Councilman <br />"`~` Brossard moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and <br />passed unanimously. Ordinance 2012-132 adopted. <br />Ordinance 2013-2 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its second reading. An <br />Ordinance amending Section 1369.03, "General Requirements for Fences and Screen <br />Walls" of Building Code Chapter 1369 entitled "Fences and Screen Walls" in order to <br />establish additional minimum standards. <br />Resolution 2013-6 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution dispensing with the RFP process and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a <br />contract with Cuyahoga County/The Cuyahoga County Engineer for the purpose of <br />providing inspection services for bridges and culverts, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance 2013-7 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. An <br />Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to implement a design build selection process for the <br />award of a contract to design and install improvements to the ice rink refrigeration <br />systems at the Recreation Center, and authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the <br />Board of Control, to contract for the same with the successful applicant, and declaring an <br />emergency. Councilman Mahoney made a motion to suspend the rule requiring three <br />readings. The motion was seconded by Councilman Brossard and passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Mahoney moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Brossard and passed unanimously.
