Council Minutes of 5/18/93 Mr. BoeYBner introduced former Mr. Scouter David Dillon. Mr. Dillon addressed Council and the Administration and invited them to participate in All Scouts Weekend, June 4, 5 and 6. Mir. Smith, Troop 1980 Eric Jones, Troop 630 Jamie Hauser, Troop 664 Lee Hadbavny, Troop 664 Becky Hoelter, Troop 1067 Dennis Livingston, Troop 664 Matt Hartman, Troop 664 Brenda Black, Troop 1067 Heather Smith, Troop 1980 Colin Zimmerman, Troop 630 Richelle Solt, Troop 1980 Mayor Boyle presented proclamations to the two Honorary Mayors, Jennifer Adams and Greg Plantner, and wished them well on their future endeavors. Law Director Gareau reported: 1) Has filed a declaratory judgpient action against AFSCME dealing with the issue of Civil Service. The American Arbitration Association has notified that they have picked an arbitrator to hear that case. He will file a motion for a stay order with the Court of Common Pleas; however, if the stay is not granted, the arbitration will proceed. 2) A pre-trial has been held on the Halleen case. The judge has not granted the motion for a stay order which would have prevented Halleen's attorney from taking the depositions of the members of the Board of Zoning Appeals. 3) City Prosecutor Don Albenze is ill. Since this is the first time in 192 years that he has not been able to do the job, there is no provision for appointing an Acting Prosecutor. Therefore, legislation. has been placed on the agenda to provide for the appointment of an Acting Prosecutor who will be compensated at a salary commensurate with the responsibilities. Finance Director Burns reported: 1) Today the $250,000 note for the new fire truck and the $260,000 note for Service Department equipment were sold for an interest rate of 2.9X. 2) On the agenda is Resolution 93-74 dealing with the sharing of revenues with local governments as it is addressed in the State budget. If the Governor's suggested budget is adopted, it will cost the City of North Olmsted $49,950 this year arxi approximately $100,000 in 1994.
