Council Minutes of 5/5/93 <br />b. Ordinance 93-59 which is a note ordinance for the purpose of street, storm <br />acid sanitary sewer imprave~nerrts. It also includes unciergraurd and above ground <br />wiring for street lighting. The committee recoEnnended approval. <br />Mr. Musial, Chairperson of the Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee, <br />reported: 1) The cc~rsittee suet ~ April 26; pree~nt were c:oittee members <br />Nashar and Musial; Council Meyers Lind, Saringer and Lecrosrd; Finance Director <br />Burns; Recreation Conmi.ssioner Fattlar; and resident Mary Creadon. This meting <br />was held to coordinate the elements necessary to put together a note ordinance <br />for Council's consideration regarding the first phase of the roof repair of the <br />Rec Center, the Clague Park tennis/basketball court, North Olmsted Park ponytail <br />softball diamond, and the Rec Center lobby rest room improv ts. It was <br />tentatively decided that the improvements to the gymnastics area would be taken <br />out of the Rec Center operating funds. Mr. Musial and Mrs. Bahas are h©ping to <br />secure funding for the North Olmsted volleyball court frdn a North Olmsted <br />service club. If that does not occur, the costs will probably coEne from <br />operational funds. <br />Audience Particitio~n <br />Mr. Ray Koeh, an Antler Drive resident, stated that Yee had run in the primary <br />election to allow the electors a chance to voice their approval. of Mr. Lind who <br />had been appointed to Council. He ccmgratulated Mr. Lind on his victory as the <br />Democratic candidate for Ward II. Mr. Koch was appreciative of the kind <br />treatment. the candidates had received from the media, especially Jacgi Templeton <br />of the Westl.ife and Karen Zupanc of the.Sun Herald. <br />Mr. Bob Dohnal of Noreen Drive presented a petition from Noreen Drive residents <br />asking that their-street be reconstructed. The residents asked for assurance <br />that Noreen Drive be given due consideration as to placement on the repair <br />calendar. Also, the residents would like a lime of communications to be opened <br />from the Service Director and Ward II Council Member Lind as to the order and <br />timetable of the various phases of the reconstruction. <br />Sheila Pedrini, an Ambour Drive resident, said that the Ambour Drive residents <br />were very upset about the condition of their street.. There are no curbs or <br />street lights grid the residents feel the street is unsafe. Also, the residents <br />had been assured that all the trees would be retained during the recent sewer <br />work. However, only one tree out of seventy was saved. They were promised that <br />their street would be repaved this year and would like answers to the following <br />questions: why isn't it going to be repaved; who made the decision not to <br />repave; if they are told it will be done next year, why should they believe that? <br />Mayor Boyle commented that Council's Streets & Drainage Committee will soon meet <br />to review a number of engineering estimates for various streets in the city. <br />Service Director BohLmaml said that he did not recall that Ambour Drive was ever <br />on a repair list.
